So I couldn't wait to see the halftime highlights congratulating G'town on our 2nd Big East regular season title in as many years...raced home for halftime report during USC-Stanford (Go Trojans, give us that 2 seed)...and surprise, surprise Seth Davis (the devil) gave us no props for 15-3, undefeated season at home, etc. etc....let's win the BE tourney and from there EVERYTHING else...

I'd rather not have him on the wagon at all.

Forget him. 15-3, 25-4, undefeated at home, top ten RPI/pom/sagarin, Big East crown stands on its own.

I'm not going to kill Seth too much here. He had us going to the Final 4 on Selection Sunday last year. It's possible that if I weren't looking at this team with Hoya-colored glasses, I may share his sentiment.

OK, now this clown has completely jumped the shark. After the Drake - Illinois State game CBS did a Q&A session with Greg Gumbel and our dear friend Seth. When asked who is the best in the Big East he sided with Louisville, noting that although Gtown won yesterday, UL took care of business at home by 9 a few weeks ago. OK, fair enough, thats a defensible statement.
But he then added that L'ville also had beaten Kentucky by 14, of which he said, "in retrospect, is an even more impressive win [than the win over GU]."
What??? Seriously?? In retrospect of what? That UK has played its way onto the fringe of the bubble?
I guess that means San Diego and Gardner-Webb also have more impressive wins than anyone who beat us this year. Vandy's 50 point pasting of UK (which was also just a few weeks ago) must be the win of the year.
I am fine with commentators not drinking the Hoya kool-aid. Until a week ago I wasn't much of a believer myself. But we are a top 10 team by any metric - AP, USA Today, RPI, Pomeroy, whatever. To say that UK is on our level is just retarded.
I really doubt Davis has a specific axe to grind against the Hoyas; perhaps he is just trying not to contradict himself, but it should be Gumbel's responsibility to at least question such a stupid remark.
Maybe if KU sneaks in and beats a 7-seed in the first round we'll get a chance to see.

Not to spoil your outrage ( ;D), but maybe he meant that that win looked better now than it did then because Kentucky looks like a better team and is a possible NCAA team. In other words, what looked like a win over one NIT team, now is a win over one NCAA team. Kentucky used to look like crap, now they look competitive (for their league, not BE).
Nothing to do with us.

I think it is much more likely that he meant beating Kentucky looks much better now, looking at it knowing what they would go on to do, than at the time when Kentucky was still a sub-.500 team. I don't think he means that beating Kentucky is more impressive than beating Georgetown.

I resent that you won't let me participate in the "media is out to get us" trend on the board without being called out.
Didn't you see my parenthetical? Clearly [the Editedbag] meant beating Kentucky was more impressive than beating us.
I stand by my outrage.
