Adrian Branch on ESPNU last night listed the Hoyas as one of the 6 or 7 teams he feels could win it all. Of course 2 minutes later, when talking about the SU-Pitt game, said that "Pitt is 7-4 in their last 10 games, while Syracuse is only 4-7 in their last 10."

Terps seem to know how to play basketball (although after last night not so sure) School is not one of their fortes as we all know

I enjoy Branch on the ESPNU coverage. He and Stephen Bardo are refreshing--because they actually watch different teams play and know the personnel. Both were excellent players in their day, but I've heard enough former players speak to know that being an excellent player doesn't make you a good analyst.
This doesn't speak to Branch's talk on Hoyas either--being from area, I'd think he'd know more about them. Just talking of his analysis in general. Same with Bardo.

What is really funny is that during another game during last week, Len Elmore made a self-deprecating joke about his limited UMCP math skills. Then quickly pointed out "That was just a joke Terp alumni, just a joke, don't do anything radical."

Len Elmore received his law degree from Harvard. He can get away with whatever self-deprecating jokes he wants. He is truly a model citizen. Maryland was indeed fortunate to have him.

Maryland was indeed fortunate to have him. speaking of the terps, Austin was at the Clemson debacle. in regards to Elmore, you are 100% correct. I've known him personally for approximately 7 years. great man, father and husband. not the best dresser though. those 1970 shorts he wears in the summer at basketball camps are hideous
