Nobody's said it yet, but it has to be said. These guys are great and no matter what happens from here on out, what a fantastic 4 years of Hoya hoops it's been.
Thanks, guys. You've resurrected a tradition and made the university proud on so many levels.

Yes, and now folks like me can go in their archives of recent game video without needing a Tums.
Joking aside, there is still a lot of season left and even more opportunities for this group to make its mark, but I think it is already settled that it is in the upper echelon of the last 30 years in terms of impact and importance.

These four play with more heart than any single class I can remember. They are battle tested warriors.
Here's my leave it all out on the court, balls of steel, all heart team of the past 25 years:
Patrick Sr. Zo Patrick Jr. Gene Smith Sapp
With Charles Smith and Jeff Green coming off the bench. Had VP stayed another year...i'd have to add him as well.

I remember going to the first game against Temple - my first year of season tickets. I thought Hibbert was going to be a stiff. The rout was accepted as "growing pains".
What a difference four years make.

Unfortunately, I can't go to the game Saturday. But I hope everyone in the arena lets them know just how amazing it's been to watch these guys resurrect this program. They've always represented the university with the utmost class. It's been a pleasure, and I hope they go out on top in a way befitting everything they have done for this program.

I also add Thanks Jeff.
The Sonics are @ Philadelphia on Friday night and @ Toronto on Sunday. I wonder if Jeff will sneak out and get to the game on Saturday; it wouldn't surprise me at all if he did.

This class will be remembered forever.
It had everything - the great big man, the floor general, the high energy do everything power forward, the superstar and the team first leader.
And most importantly everyone of them was a character guy.
Each one of them deserves the best the fans can give them. So if ever you feel yourself sitting and being quiet at the game remember this is their last home game and think of how much joy they have brought you.
THANK YOU SENIORS YOU HAVE MADE THE LAST 4 YEARS AN INCREDIBLE RIDE

My youngest son is a senior this year and the third brother to attend Georgetown from his generation. I was class of 74, which suffered through a 3-23 sophomore year and some positives and some growing pains as Big John adjusted to college coaching. My oldest son was class of 2000 which was a painful period after Iverson left and Esh arrived. My third son was class of 2005--four years without a bid, but at least they could see that III was starting something during the senior year. It has been a wonderful four years of basketball and campus life for the class of 08 and I will be very emotional seeing this class leave the Hilltop.
While I understand that there are great recruits coming, this group, even without Jeff, will always be special and I wish great things for them on and off the court.
Thanks for everything Roy, Jon, Patrick and Tyler. You have made us proud to be Hoyas.

THANK YOU CLASS OF 2008!!!
Your performance on and off the court have been nothing short of tremendous, and you have made the university proud! You have redefined, recaptured, and renewed Georgetown's successes in men's basketball, and you have done it with class, character, and teamwork. You'll be missed but never forgotten. May your lives be filled with as much happiness and success as you have brought to the Hilltop.

Do you realize that this team is 27-6 in conference play over the last two seasons? Incredible! Here's to win #28 on saturday and back-to-back BE titles. Thanks to all the guys, especially J Wally, who other schools said was too slow and not athletic enough to play at this level. Harvest, AL baby!

Words cannot capture the thanks that I have in my heart for this class, and I will include Jeff among them. Jon Wallace, Roy Hibbert, Jeff Green, Tyler Crawford and Patrick Ewing Jr. were the main pieces in the revival of Hoya basketball. With them on our team, we went from below .500, to a tournament contender, to a sweet 16 team, to a final four team. Perhaps there is one more step, but this is not the place for such discussion. Just an incredible ride, this class will never be forgotten. HOYA SAXA!

I've watched these seniors grow so much over their 4 yrs at the Hilltop and I just can't explain how much they'll be missed when its all said and done ... I remember being the first one over on the Hoyas Rival site to post the signing of Tyler & also following most of his Sr yr in H.S (Hoyas fan since birth) ... at first I was a little upset that we didn't get Florain Campbell ( he ended up @ George Mason) ... but I quickly found out how much of a hard worker AF1 was ! I'm happy he represented GU and he will always be remembered in my book ... then there was Roy aka ShaDirk .. whom I clearly remember being ranked in the top 10-15 in his class as a Frosh going into Soph yr. (when he signed with the HOYAS) ... TAGGED : A STIFF .. a project that won't contribute until his 3rd or 4th yr... Blah blah blah ... Boy where they WRONG .. He's matured so much and worked hard to get to where he is .. so dedicated - he passed on millions to play for the school of his dreams .. I love the Big fella and he will be missed ... (THERE'S STILL WORK TO BE DONE BIG ROY - STAY FOCUSED!!) .. next we have Jon WALLACE .. MY MAN! (in my best Denzel voice ) ... who would've thought that this kid from Alabama turned out to be such a big reason for the turn around of this program .. JTIII saw something in him and we're all fortunate for that .. the kid earned his and never backed down to anyone .. from day 1 - I trusted JTIII and JW ... and he will always be remembered in my eyes .. never that flashy and doesn't need to be - but certainly a player with the most B-BALL IQ and A RAINMAKER that'll shoot your eye out ... FINISH STRONG JW - I KNOW YOU GOT IT IN YOU !! ... last but not least .. PE3 .. I also followed his H.S career and was kinda upset he chose Indiana at the time .. but when he landed back at GU .. I knew we had gotten a player that would leave it all on the floor .. and he hasn't disappointed me ... in my eyes ... THE BEST 6th man in the country and a HUGE motivational tool to this yrs team .. ATTITUDE and ENERGY ... I'm happy he chose to finish his last 2 yrs as a HOYA ... and without him .. we'd almost have no character to the team .. I wish we had 5 PE3's .. BUT one is good enough and I know he's focused to keep the train running until the end ... YOU'll be missed PE3 .. THANKS BRO ... as for Jeff... I could go on for days about that young man and I know SOON ENOUGH , he'll be an all-star in the league .. His parents are great and He represented GU to the fullest .. wish he was still with us .. but I still feel he made the right choice .. over-all .. you could never take anything away from them .. they've all turned out to be great individuals and should be proud of their accomplishments. WE HAVE 10 more games left fellas .. lets SHOCK the world and shut all the non-believers down ... it can be done .. you just have to earn it and remain hungry ... win or lose .. you'll always have a place in my heart and THANK YOU just isn't enough from this LOYAL HOYAS FAN ... WE ARE GEORGETOWN!

It is much like the way I felt about the 79-80 Hoyas.

For A LOT of people, this is the first Georgetown team that has been followed day-to-day. I feel like most students/alums know the name of a lot of our past players, especially the stars, but not every detail. For me, I had no particular attachment to Georgetown before my senior year of HS. And then Freshman year of college, basketball wasn't the highest thing on my radar. So many of us don't know "Georgetown basketball" WITHOUT these guys. The boys coming in behind this class better respect and uphold the tradition of excellence, both on and off the court, that the 5 from this class embodied.

And most importantly, I have absolutely no doubt that these 4 men (and Jeff), with the character, the humility, and the class they have shown during their years at GU, will be incredible successes in life, and will make amazing contributions to this world even if they were never to play another minute of bball after they leave. It is an honor to share an alma mater with these men.

I agee with all of these sentiments. This group did something no Georgetown class before them has done. They restored a storied program to its rightful place.
More importantly, at least for me, these are young men that all of us - alum, parents, students - can be proud to cheer. Someone used the term "character". Not a whiff of scandal or trouble in four years.
