That Marquette W over Florida Gulf Coast this Wednesday is gonna look mighty fine in the middle of that long winning streak to the Selection Committee.
Oops - Mr. Wallace says, "not so fast."

DFW -- great job to put that BET clinching headline AND the photo of Mr. Clutch. Everyone who ever posted negative things about JW should bow down, apologize and kiss his shoes. Man that kid is incredible. And JT3's record in close games is becoming an absolutely phenomenal factor.
Way to go Hoyas! SUMMERS AND EWING -- GREAT WORK ON THE BOARDS!

JT III showed why he is one of the best coaches in the country today by placing all 5 Hoyas on the perimeter with Ewing Jr playing the point in several sets. It negated the MU pressure and cut down on the turnovers that were leading Georgetown towards a sure loss. We stole one today which makes it all the sweeter.

Everyone who ever posted negative things about JW should bow down, apologize and kiss his shoes. Wallace came up big in the clutch and I don't want to be negative after such a great win, but he did not have a great game. He had a great final 7 minutes or so.

Jim Bones, noticed that too. That's how we beat Pitt at home two years ago when the seniors were sophs. We put Jeff up top in the second half and let him have his way with Lead Foot Aaron Gray. Worked pretty well when Ewing played within himself today.
And I said this in the in-game thread, but I'm really proud of Jon so I'll say it again: When the phone rings in the White House at 3 a.m., I want Jon Wallace to answer it.

Just got back from the Bradley Center. Still unable to wipe that huge smile off my face. What a game!
I still can't believe we won - the place was going nuts trying to throw JWall off, and he was just ice cool. Then the 3 in OT, which shut up the two really loud Marquette fans behind me for good. Awesome stuff!

I guess JTIII said on the postgame that this is the first road win against a ranked team that we have had in 3+ years. If so I think its pretty impressive.

If that video is not shown on the big screen next Saturday at Verizon, I will be deeply disappointed. Someone get to work on that right now.

Are there 7 minutes anywhere in the game more important than the last 7 minutes? Is there anyone on the team you'd rather have at the line with 3 FTs, down 3, 2 seconds to go in the game? We are going to miss him next year.

23.0 seconds to go, Marquette up 61-59 as CBS comes back from a commercial to a shot of:
A He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named BigHead in the MU Student Section.
Seconds later, Dominic James magically turns into Drew Hall.
As far as I'm concerned, RDF's theory is e = mc squared at this point.

Yep, when I saw the head of our ex-head coach with the mustache I knew that the karma gods would strike down Marquette in merciless fashion.

The title of the thread is a bit insulting to Roy if you ask me but other than that I'm very happy for Jon coming up clutch.

Are there 7 minutes anywhere in the game more important than the last 7 minutes? Is there anyone on the team you'd rather have at the line with 3 FTs, down 3, 2 seconds to go in the game? We are going to miss him next year. The terrible terrible unclean thought that was running through my head as Wallace went to the line was from my sophomore year at the Cap Center against Nova. We were down 3, and Nova fouled Eric Micoud on a 3 at the buzzer. He hit the first two and missed the third, so the Nova fans in the building started chanting "Go home Hoyas." As low as things got under He Who Shall Not Be Named, that will always be my low point. Wallace went a long way to to erasing that memory for me today and for that I am eternally thankful.
