Thanks, sixer. I've been looking for a good excuse to break out a classic avatar.

This is intriguing. Hopefully it will end in blows; methinks Big John would crush BUM like Optimus Prime versus a secret agent.
Cam, that avatar is (still) great.

If we are going down that path, it should read "An historic moment".

AN as in the article AN should be used in front of words beginning with AN "h"

As much as I enjoy a good discussion of 'an' versus 'a' - what did they say on the show?

"tapes an interview with the great Rich Chvotkin that at halftime"
huh? I am reading it wrong?

editing error - that sentence is missing an "airs" at halftime
as for the dig at Pops, that is one of the few true statements about the Georgetown program Bum has ever printed.

never said it wasn't true, it was however unnecessary. I know it's not a big deal and i know he couldn't help making that little jab, I wasn't actually offended.

AN as in the article AN should be used in front of words beginning with AN "h" AN should only be used when the h is silent and the vowel is pronouced so if you say huge as "uge" then use AN if you say "Huge" then you use A. in this case it is "Historic" not "Istoric" so AN is correct, this is a common miss-conception

AN as in the article AN should be used in front of words beginning with AN "h" Not exactly. Old reference books on American usage typically say "an" is proper before words that both (1) begin with "h" and (2) have the stress somewhere other than the first syllable. So, "A history of Georgetown" and "A happy man" (in both cases, the stress is on the first syllable of the "h" word) but "AN historical account" and "AN heretical doctrine" (in both cases, the stress is on the second syllable of the "h" word). Note, by the way, that almost all American newspapers and magazines have dropped this distinction and now use "an" only before vowels. The British publications typically still retain it. Here endeth today's pointless lesson in the history of English usage.
