This EPA should change its name to the Environmental Pollution Agency. I can't imagine how low the morale of the lifers there must be. SAD The LA Times published an article the other day stating that the EPA wants to authorize the use of trucks with rebuilt diesel engines that pollute at 400 times the level of new conventional big rigs. The EPA is relying on a study that was publicly disavowed by the university that conducted the research. Even many Republicans are opposed to this. The California Assembly recently unanimously passed a bill that would impose fines starting at $25,000 for anyone using these rigs in California. Yet, the Environmental Pollution Agency is undeterred. How revolting is this? Yes, the morale is pretty bad, especially in my former lab in Las Vegas, which is being closed and anybody who still wants to work for the EPA has to move east. My former office mate, who used to be enthusiastic every day at work, now can barely make it into work everyday. The joy has gone.

In a normal Presidency this guy would have been fired months ago. In a normal Presidency this would be an above the fold newspaper story. Trump is so corrupt and has so many controversies around him it barely registers...
An EPA director using tax payer dollars for personal use isn't a story that should go away and that's only 1/4th of this scandal...

Republicans could easily stop the the rampant corruption and unethical behavior prevalent in the Trump Administration but they choose not to...
13 current investigations, calls for more, and Republicans are like- what's the big deal, this is just like the time when...
Narrator: Lol.. Not sure if serious...

Seriously, is there a tipping point? What is the point of keeping Pruitt? To shift attention away from other corruption in different segments of the administration?

Guess we really can do this all day... It's great that Republicans think supporting every whim of this grifter is a good use of taxpayer dollars...

He is so corrupt. I wonder how he can keep his job. And then I realize he is doing Trump's bidding and shake my head.

Well, it is about time. The problem is that we get the devil that we don't know, instead of the devil we knew. Wheeler may be more corrupt than Pruitt and is going to pursue the same agenda.

My favorite comment from yesterday, "Being too corrupt for this administration is quite an accomplishment". It is ironic considering how Trump ran on a platform of clearing out corruption in Washington. I think it likely that once the dust has settled that history will look back on this presidency as one of the most crooked and fraudulent administrations ever. I'm reminded of the French revolting against the authoritarianism of their monarchy and winding up with an emperor.

Periodic reminder that people only make "states rights" arguments in a bad faith effort to advance their preferred policy outcomes...

Trumnp's end run around climate change concerning the California wild fires:
Between tweets about immigration and the economy, President Trump finally weighed in on the devastating forest fires ravaging California this summer.
But Trump did not have a word for the residents who lost their homes or firefighters who lost their lives. Instead, he wanted to talk about water politics in California, launching a series of tweets that baffled water experts and ignored the role climate change has played in exacerbating wildfires in the arid American West.
On Sunday, Trump blamed unnamed laws for worsening the wildfires. He reasoned "California wildfires are being magnified & made so much worse by the bad environmental laws which aren’t allowing massive amount of readily available water to be properly utilized. It is being diverted into the Pacific Ocean. Must also tree clear to stop fire spreading!"
He followed up with a Twitter message Monday faulting the state's Democratic governor, Jerry Brown, for not providing enough water to fight the fires. That tweet came just a day after the president fulfilled the governor's request to declare the Carr Fire near Redding a "major disaster," allowing federal disaster dollars for housing and food aid to flow to the region.
The tweets are perplexing in a number of ways. Indeed, years of drought have dried out California's woodlands, making forests there more susceptible to wildfires. But the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection says it has more than enough water to fight the blazes. "We're having no issues with water supplies," said Scott McLean, a deputy chief with the agency said.

This is a wonderful idea. We could absolutely use more cases of mesothelioma in this country.
