that one great play will make people forget how badly he played today offensively. on defense, he was great and the dunk made me jump out of my recliner, but he had some horrible turnovers today.
great dunk though. ;D

Anyone that is 6'3" should be able to finish an uncontested dunk. Rivers played terribly on the offensive end. His ballhandling against the press is SAD. We will look back on this season & say that Chris Wright's injury is what prevented the Hoyas from making another Final Four run.

Man, sometimes this fan base is perplexingly miserable.

You do realize that he was the third guard on a team that went to the Final 4 last year, right? And that he is a better player this year than last year?

I hate 99% of the "fans" on this board. You can't just give a kid some love for a great dunk, you have to poison the koolaid.

Jeremiah might be the most underappreciated player on the team. There were points in this season when he may have been the smartest player on both ends of the floor for us. He needs help to beat the press as any guard would when being swarmed by 2 players. It is hard to blame him for some of the turnovers today.

I'm not saying Rivers is a terrific ballhandler, but a number of those turnovers were just not his fault. They sent two defenders at him and no other Hoya came back for the ball to help out - what is he supposed to do? Break the press himself? He played a good game today.

Hid D today was excellent - #5 (Vaughan) was running him through screens constantly, prepetual motion, and somehow J was staying with him. Other than bringing the ball upcourt against the press, his offense was fine, too. And I agree that people failed to come back to help on at least one of those turnovers.
If Summers had also connected on his dunk, we would have had two longtime highlight-reel plays in the same game!

Do YOU realize that his minutes have doubled this season & this team requires more production from him to be successful ? Also, do you realize that Jeff Green was utilized last season as pressure release against teams that pressed GU & he's now in the NBA ? Face it, the kid is an offensive liability in all phases. I've been a Geogetown fan forover 25 years however I am not blind. Our kids aren't perfect & it doesn't make me less of a fan for poiniting out their fallacies.

Its obvious that he can dunk, but you're lying if you thought he was going to throw it down like that. I agree, it was a very exciting play and one of the highlights of the game.

Sputtering threats ("keyborads"?) that question the manhood of another poster on an internet message board. What are you doing, challenging him to some sort of klingon trial by combat type encounter? Oooh, maybe it involves multisided dice. I hope so. Btw, you probably should know that Guru has the golden gloves of hoyatalk. Quick as a cat. Always ready to pounce. That's enough of the "I'm a big man and you're not" back-and-forth. Discuss the game on the basketball merits. People can disagree about how well a player does in various areas without responding with threats against each other.
No more of that or the thread will be locked.
