I don't know about Alford. His lack of success at Iowa has many IU fans thinking he is not yet ready for a Big Ten job. I'm not sure one good year in a lesser conference does anything to change that perception. Not saying that it's right or wrong, but a lot of IU fans think Indiana can do a lot better than Alford. Thoughts on who might get it? Haven't read their boards lately. The guy from Baylor is getting a lot of love these days.

Recommend this thread get moved since it's very tangentially GU now. Alford was supposedly IU's golden boy and it was expected that he would move to the Indiana job after leading Iowa to success. Didn't happen that way. As with SFHoya, I can't see someone who was essentially run out of Iowa City heading to a school that fired Mike Davis. Scott Drew, Baylor's coach, would seem to be a good fit with Hoosier roots. But I'd be worried if I were IU - Baylor's had one good season so far (although Drew basically rebuilt the program), and it would seem a risk. It may be better to look at the assistant coaches. All three have IU roots and head coaching experience (Dakich is actually an IU grad). iuhoosiers.cstv.com/sports/m-baskbl/mtt/ind-m-baskbl-mtt.html#coaches
