I guess I was wrong too. Sapp wasnt the best guard on the floor either, it was Reynolds.

I for one, congratulate Rivers and Wallace - who no one on this board had any confidence in for winning the game.

People have to realize that no matter how good Scotty is or how well he is playing he will ALWAYS be good against us Reynolds is not that good, and I am glad that he was not offered a scholarship by our staff. He is an undersized volume shooter who has to play off the ball and frequently has to rely on officials to bail him out. In tonight's contest, he did have his 24 points. Otherwise, he'd have nothing to speak of except 2 boards. a turnover, a steal, and a foul. My guess is he had about 12 points or so in the first ten minutes. We adjusted, and he had 12 for the rest of the game and was totally smothered on the last possession because he can't easily get to the tin. It is also no accident that Wallace seemed to get his way out of a slump tonight. On edit: Reynolds was 1-6 in the second half and had 7 points at the line, mostly from touch fouls and defensive reaches in the bonus. Nova can have him. Wake me up when they win another postseasn game.

What did you guys do, tune in for the last 5 minutes? I was EXTREMELY happy with the shot selection by Wallace today, I didn't see one off the dribble three. However, to somehow pretend that he had a great game is ludicrous. He shot 40% from the floor, 37.5% from range, had a mindboggling 1/3 assist to turnover ratio, and picked up 4 fouls, a few of them horrible.
Was it a BETTER game for Jon, absolutely. Was he as good as he was during March last year? Absolutely not.

The problem, royski, is that it is relative. I'm not sure we'll see March 2007 Wallace again because of how this team is composed and what it is doing offensively right now. So, from watching the game, I at least had more confidence in Wallace because he was showing more confidence in his game and shot and played well on the defensive end. People will probably disagree with this, but I thought he gave us more tonight than Reynolds gave Nova.

Yeah--really upset that Hoyas lost the game. I stand by what I said--Fisher got to spots he wanted--and he didn't hit shots. Since he's moved to PG--Reynolds improves because he doesn't play the point--when he did at the end--how did that turn out? I'm glad Fisher missed shots and Hoyas did a nice job on him tonight. I also said Nova would be a threat because they moved Reynolds to his best position. Fisher was poor tonight, but I still think the kid is best suited for the role he's in now and makes Nova a better team then when Reynolds plays the point. Corey Stokes can't shoot a lick can he? Stokes and Freeman had same build in HS--now one looks like a college player and the other like he's put on the Freshman "15". What offense do the Hoyas run? Please someone inform me because what I'm saw tonight was nothing to boast/call someone out about--but if you get off on that--great. If you honestly think this TRASH of a game is an example of a team ready to make a push into March--more power to you. I just hope Wallace continues to take good shots--as he did tonight and I've given him credit in 3 seperate threads. His floor game was better on defensive end and nobody ran the offense tonight consistently well or handled pressure--so he's not singled out there. Just hope this team finds something--anything resembling an offensive approach and consistently. If they do--it'll make the game easier instead of the garbage that has been the past 80 minutes of basketball.

I don't get this. RDF was right. Wallace had been playing very poorly, and taking bad shots. He showed some improvement last night, and his shot selection was better. RDF has said as much. What's the point? That RDF shouldn't have criticized Wallace in the first place?

What's the point? That RDF shouldn't have criticized Wallace in the first place? I think the point is that RDF should have toned it down a notch, which he did in the thread he started after the game. That being said, this thread isn't necessary at all
