Can't play like this vs. Louisville. After some good FT shooting, down to .500 for the game. Not the satisfying victory I would like.

Back to old ways on FT's. TO's down, but shot terribly in the 1st. In all, I'll take it and expect a more inspired performance on Saturday. Thanx DFW and Rich for the play-by-play.

Re: the FT's, Dajuan is somewhat quietly stinking it up at the line- looks like he had a great game otherwise today (stupid ESPN360 brokedown on me), but he has had a few bad nights at the line this year, and for no good reason.

USF seems to have a knack for getting us to play awful basketball.
If we're going to have an off game I suppose this is the best time to do it, but we can't get into the habit of playing like that.

Most of the world didn't know this game was happening (including some of the players I guess), so lets keep it like that

We must be good, because we keep winning even though our two best shooters have been shooting bricks of late. But if we want to go far, Jon and Austin need to play better. If they play like this v. Louisville, we'll lose, and I'll officially be concerned about both of them. For now, I can still consider it a slump.

That's what I said, Jon and Austin have to be on to beat L'ville at their place. It seems like they are coming on, beating Marquette at their place by double figures. Let's get our A game in all facets on Saturday!!!

For those who saw game, What kind of defense did USF play, pressing D, straight man-to-man, or zone?

Well, hopefully that is the kick in the butt we need for the second half of the big east season. The best thing you can say is we are 19-2, 9-1 without playing our best basketball of the season. In a way, you can really see that being a Final Four has helped us. We just know what it takes to grind out wins in every manner possible.

For those who saw game, What kind of defense did USF play, pressing D, straight man-to-man, or zone? No press, almost all M2M, saw zone for only a handful of possessions. Our offense was okay after the first dreadful 10 minutes. From TV, there just appeared to be a complete lack of energy in the building at that point. That shouldn't be a problem on Saturday night.

Midway through the game, I yelled for both sides to burn the game tape. I think that that basically sums it all up.
Ugly, ugly, ugly. Gransberry played very very well (and particularly seemed to abuse Macklin). Georgetown's threes weren't hitting. GU played sloppy, then played well enough to grab the lead by the half, then played well enough to open up the lead, then played OK enough to close it down. Most people seemed like they really didn't want to be there, up to and including most of the crowd.
On the bright side, the cheerleader music started well-nigh instantly.
On another bright side, while the student section was (maybe?) half-full, those who did attend were loud.
The winner of the shake cam seemed to be enjoying himself.
Apparently, that ankle injury made DaJuan better.
I was kind of disappointed that Diamond Vision never posted any primary results (my groups passed two Hoyas looking for a bar to watch the results and updated them - we're all such wonks).
Until further evidence is provided, this was just a stinker that we were lucky to play against a bad team. No necessary evidence for the Louisville game.

Most of the world didn't know this game was happening (including some of the players I guess), so lets keep it like that Clinton Portis was sitting courtside. He applauded demonstrably after DaJuan threw down his big dunk. If it's good enough for Clinton, there must be some minimal buzz.

I do think Freeman is hitting a wall to some extent, and you cant really blame him. We've already played 10 Big East games and 21 total. That is pretty tough on a freshman. In the same regard, I am not worried about Wallace because Rivers has matured enough to allow John to play only 25 minutes a game. Wallace's stats are down, but I love that we can save John those extra 10 minutes. He was routinely playing 35 minutes last year during Big East games. John will be a force down the stretch and in the tournament. You can count on it.

Rivers is a beast defensively, but did anyone else see those two 3's he put up tonight? One was a complete airball which Dajuan was luckily right there to catch and turn into a put back while the other one was a clanger that hit below the rim on the backboard. Don't know if it was an off game or what but he needs to get back the stroke he showed for a couple games early on.
Jessie Sapp has shown again that he is not afraid to take any shot if he has some daylight, some amazing and very clutch 3s.
Also, Dajuan's 11 point spree at the beginning of the game was a thing to behold
