So this is an interesting story about a high school senior named Kevin Hart who was "recruited" to play O-line at Cal and Oregon among others. He held a news conference to announce that Cal was his choice, which was all well and good, except Cal's coach never reached out to him, nor did Oregon's. Whomever was having fun at the kid's expense with this elaborate prank is indeed a dooshbag.
That said, how many recruits commit without a visit, whether official or unofficial, to the campus? How many commit without ever having met a member of the staff in person?
It's particularly cruel, however, when one takes into account that this was supposed to be the school's first student to get a full ride with a major football program.
Someone just one-upped the whole 'steal-the-rival-school's-mascot-before-a-big-game' thing in a very big way.
