I had called a while back to complain about that Hoyas game a couple of weeks ago where MASN missed the first 5 minutes or so to televise the press conference for the Ravens new coach.
Much to my surprise, someone from MASN called me today to apologize. A pretty classy move for a high-school-quality TV network.

Yeah, that Editeded me off too when I got home to watch the tape of the ND game.
Nice that they at least responded to the complaint though. That's pretty rare.
I realize that MASN covers a lot of Baltimore news, and not surprised that they do so, but come on. It was a press conference.
I'm more disappointed that Comcast continues to show UMCP highlights at the top of every show, even though they are beyond irrelevant and there is another local team that happens to be #6 in the country.
The UNC game was one thing; UVA is quite another.

The fact that they are "high school quality" (and they are - their picture stinks) means they still have to care a little bit about the customer - hence the call back.

Doesn't Comcast show MD highlights because they have those rights? I don't know what I'm talking about, but I thought they kept away from Hoyas stuff because MASN's got us.

GET AN HD CHANNEL. Seriously, my digital camera has better video quality than MASN.

The only two Major League Baseball teams without HD broadcasts in their home market are...the Nats and Orioles. That's how pitiful the network is. You can send your thank you notes to one of the most inept/clueless/cheap owners in all of sports, Peter Angelos.

Comcast owns the means to put an HD channel on their service so i imagine it is cheaper for them do that and it is doubtful MASN has the money to considering they still fill most of their time slots with broadcasts of ESPNnews. but see as masn has become exponentially more popular since securing contracts with the nats and big east and has yet to update their services (i.e. picture) i wouldnt be surprised if they are saving up to overhaul the whole system at once instead of incrementally which is what comcast essentially did after taking over for fox sports net

The picture quality definitely has to be upgraded. Its like watching the game through the eyes of an impressionist. I thought Bucky Waters (sp?) was a giant pumpkin during the St. Johns game.

HD or not, I'm thankful to have MASN carry as many Hoya games as it does. Sure beats no telecast at all.

If it makes you feel any better, the picture quality was terrible in Boston, too. Flipping to the Syracuse-UCon game on ESPNHD was like turning on the defogger.

All I know is that MASN took a step back on Saturday when they broadcast a Mountaineers expose before the GU-SHU game. Ugh.
