just got word from good source in conn that the two uconn guys were caught on campus with alot of alchohol in a car.. and the reason hes waitin as per uconn campus rules,, there is then mandatory drug testing when found with alchohol sooooo calhoun is waiting for that to come back.. sorta feel sorry i think dysons there best player and wiggins as we saw an unbelievable three shooter thats the lastest from my conn friends.. they do worry this seems to be a pattern of misbehavior that continually hurts the team thru the yeards go hoyas beat the johnnies .... hope this wont be pullled as rumor as the source seems to know about it and its not private information go hoyas

If stuff happens once or twice, it is a fluke. When it happens time & time again, it is institutional. It has to do with either the type of kids they recruit, or the support they receive when on campus. I would argue with UConn it is probably the latter.

wonder is there is a mandatory suspension or is upto calhoun discretion. I'm a big uconn hater and cannot stand calhoun, considering his previous ways he has treated recruits and players, but kinda impressed he would suspend his stars with out an official sanction yet. Thought he would wait til the last possible moment then suspend them. (try to get the tough indiana and louisville games out of the way....

Nice that Calhoun said Friday that the incident was not academic related or illegal.
It is nice to know that in CT. 19 and 20 year olds can be caught with Vodka in a car and it isn't illegal. The guy and his program are a disgrace! I have to read and hear daily about how his program is the best living in CT. It is a complete shame that he is the highest paid state employee! He is an absolute crook!

um, assuming this is true, it's just alcohol. it's pretty stupid when you have so much to risk from getting caught, but i hope none of you being so critical ever drank while you were under the legal age. i mean, that never happens at college and certainly never at georgetown.

last time i checked, there were tons of after hour pics of our basketball players at tombs posted by kids on facebook. don't you have to be 21 to get in there after a certain hour? didn't roy just turn 21 in december. strange.

Aparently they are also recieving a drug test, the results of which are not in yet. That could be what Calhoun means when he is "still collecting data".
I agree on the surface underage drinking is a big nothing but perhaps there is a team rule against drinking or drinking a specific length away from gameday? Calhoun might just be Editeded that they went out drinking/partying two days before a very important game.

The report i read on espn said that alcohol was found in the car not that they drinking it at the time, so when calhoun says that it was not illegal he may be right, in some states you can transport alcohol starting at 16 or 18 if it is closed. it seemed from the reports that the police were not involved and that it was more of a school issue

Completely wrong. There are pictures of Jeff, Jon, Tyler, and Pat AFTER all 4 were 21. Since then, I've seen the team eating, but they've generally left by 9:30 or so. The only ones who have ever come in after the usually permitted time have always been 21. Roy wasn't in the pictures that you're probably thinking of.

It's getting to the point where UConn is our best win of the season. It doesnt surprise me, though. I didnt think it was a fluke that they played us tough.

I'll give UConn their due. Right now, they look like the 2nd best team in the Big East. They certainly have their flaws, and we'll see how the shortened bench will hurt them if it's a lingering thing (they looked dead against L'ville down the stretch), but they are a dangerous team. Glad we got that win on them.

I second that this claim is dead wrong, and it's dumb to cavalierly throw that out into the rumor mill. Anyone who has ever been out when those guys show up knows that they barely even drink at parties. Intimating that our guys are up to no good without even a shred of evidence is completely irresponsible.
