Though the question maybe moot for a few games b/c of Summers injury, in this offense it seems to me that at the position of big forward Ewing is the better fit. In this offense the big forward is required (1) to be a good ball handler that can drive to the hoop, (2) have the ability to hit the 3pt shot and mid range shot, and (3) have the ability to pass the ball to post up big man and backdoor cutting teammate. Clearly Ewing is more proficient in 2 of the above than Summers, ballhandling and passing. Summers has a better stroke from 3pt land ,not sure about midrange. Last night Ewings 3 2nd half backdoor bounce passes for baskets to Freeman and Rivers keyed the Hoyas comeback. Also last year I remember Bilas raving about Green having the size to see over the defense outside and could pass to the cutting backdoor cutter or pass it to big man. I think this is why this offense has struggled so much this year, Summers just has not provided that triple threat at big forward as did Green last year. JT3 has to do a juggling act to decide when it is best to use Summers as starter or Ewing. If team is playing packed zone , then Summers sharpshooting from 3pt land is needed. But when team is playing a tight man-to-man D like WV played last night then Ewing seems the better choice.
