Dear season ticket holders in Section 120, row N, seats 3-8:
This was the third straight game I had to sit in front of a whole row of opposing fans. This is getting ridiculous. Please either show up from now on, or sell your seats to an actual Hoya fan. Otherwise I will be forced to hunt you down and deal with you according to the Fan Convention of 1909. You have been warned.
Sincerely,
Bando

Amazingly 118 was opposing fan free (FOR ONCE!).
But yeah, the pockets of orange in the lower bowl was ridiculous. You people should be ashamed of yourselves for letting that happen.

If it was one or two friends every once and a while I could deal. But there are season ticket holders who apparently have no intention of ever showing up, and can't even go to the trouble to make sure other Hoyas get the tickets.

Amazingly 118 was opposing fan free (FOR ONCE!). The lower part of 118. We had quite a few loud Cuse fans in the upper rows of the upper section of 118.

I couldn't agree with you more, Bando. I am in Section 100, and the Row T ticket holders gave or sold their tickets to the most obnoxious and annoying ND fans last Saturday -- it is one thing when the visiting fans are respectful (which can include cheering loudly for their team) but another matter altogether when they are insulting the fans around them, cursing, making racist and generally ignorant comments, and just being d-bags. I'd love to see a system where you are responsible for the behavior of the people sitting in your seats -- if they behave badly (to the point of being ejected), then you run the risk of not getting season tickets the next year (or having them revoked for that year). We have the ticket demand, we could do something like this, and I'd love to see it happen.

It was also bad to see so many empty seats where Hoya season ticket holders belong. Aside from the student sections most of our season ticket holders seem to have forgotten that it was a Georgetown-Syracuse game - they were downright silent for most of the game.

The terds that own the seats behind me .... they are in section 121 row P seats 1-2 or maybe 3-4 or maybe all four ... are actually Syracuse fans that live in DC. They pay the hoya hoop club membership to guarantee good seats for the cuse game and then sell the rest on Stub Hub. It is HORRIBLE.
Is there any way to stop this treachery? I would happily support the university dumping Stub Hub as a sponsor. Terrible unintended consequences.

I'd like to see us develop a list of people who repeatedly sell their tickets to opposing fans.

I hate this Stubhub sponsorship. It is truly sad that we encourage a system where tickets seem to be going to opposing fans more often than Georgetown fans. We should dump that crappy system and come up with something that keeps tickets in the hands of our own fans and prevents the enemy from picking up prime seats.

I'd like to see us develop a list of people who repeatedly sell their tickets to opposing fans. I'm down with this. Assuming opposing fans are in those seats again next game (or since it's the Hall, they'll probably be empty), I'll nail down exactly what seats they are. Everyone else do the same and maybe we can forward a list to Athletics at the end of the season.

I love the idea guys, but as long as we have this idiotic StubHub deal going they will just ignore our complaints. The StubHub deal promotes the idea of putting unused tickets up for sale on StubHub where any fan can buy it, not just Georgetown fans.

Call out fans by row and seat number. Give them a hard time at the games. Section 120 (I assume that's the one near the band) looked practically 80% orange from my vantage point across the stadium. Ridiculous and embarrassing.
That said, section 104, despite a few offending fans (Row L had 3 SUcks fans towards the student section side), was pretty much fully blue and gray today. Cheered their heads off, too...nice job. Now the rest of the alumni sections have to figure out that this is how it works...you have season tickets, use them!

How long does the Stub Hub sponsorship last? Please tell me it's just one season ....

There's no reason we can't get lists of season ticket holders who sell to the enemy while at the same time trying to get a system to keep tickets in friendly hands.
For compiling the list you might want to look on Stubhub to see if there are any seats in the season ticket holder section that are being offered for too many games.

I think that keeping track of the seats that have been sold to opposing fans online in a list of shame and then forwarding the final list to the athletic department (even if they elect to do nothing) - will make people think twice about what they do with their season tickets.

In section 110 there were very few 'cuse fans, though I've had that problem in prior years. It seemed like there were more empty seats than usual, though, and it seemed like people were wearing orange all over the upper decks. It was ridiculous.

After the next home game, I'll start a wall of shame in the B&G board. Post exact seat numbers, and we'll compile a list at the end of the season.

Very easy to compile--spend about 5 minutes on Stubhub and you're golden.
Athletic Department's not gonna jettison the sponsorship deal, but anything that makes them aware of the problem and encourages developing an alternative solution would be welcome. At the end of the day the ball is in the court, so to speak, of the holders of the tickets.
It'll be an item at the next Hoop Club meeting, of that you can be sure.
