So if anyone has been keeping track the BE, PAC10 and ACC are in a three way dogfight for toughest conference as per RPI (imprefect system for sure)
I have been hearing a lot of Big East downers on TV of late and injuries at Louisville and Pitt keep on coming up as a reasons the league is weaker than expected. Looking at the numbers though we look pretty good so far
10 BE teams are in RPI top 50 vs. 5 ACC and 5 at PAC10
Beyond the absolute number it's a also a greater % at 62.5% for BE, 42% at ACC and 50% in PAC 10.
with UCONN @ Indiana the last non conf. game we might not have many Final 4 candidates past Gtown but i think the league looks pretty good.
just a thought

According to kenpom, GU's RPI is up to 22. However, the only teams remaining on our schedule with higher RPIs are Pitt (10) and Marquette Golden Flu (16). I realize playing teams in the 50-100 range instead of 100-200 will help as well, but Pitt and Marquette are the big fish.
Big East #3 RPI conference right now.
