From Basket Draghi Novara's site (Translated from Italian) Maybe someone who spent some time the Villa could help with a more coherent translation? Via Lloreda, to the Ignis there is Bowman E' a wing of 204 cm from i great physical means.
Perhaps this morning arrives plays to Soresina - The Press - 04/01/2008 10:50 - NOVARA.
It could not end various: Jaime to Varese in Brandon and Lloreda series Bowman to the Ignis Novara. The "turn of valzer" of New Year's Day has been concluded in the day yesterday. If the announcement still lacks engages of the society of Masnago, there is that one of Draghi that finally has put fine to a telenovela that it lasted give before Been born them. Better therefore for all: for Novara, that it will be able to count on a new American, motivated and voglioso to try the Italian adventure, for the Panamanian who in the last games had been nearly "harmful". In the memories of the tifosi of the Ignis but the images better will remain than Lloreda, those of beginning championship, when it stamped double double in industrial amounts. But with the goodbye to Trullo and the advent of Morganti, the "taylor of Panama hat" had entered in one involutiva phase.
Under with Brandon Bowman, therefore: been born to Beverly Hills in California 15 October 1984, it is a wing of 2,04 format cestisticamente near the university of Georgetown of which he is the twelfth producer and the tenth one in the bounces in classifies of all the times. In last the two years he has dressed the mesh of the Bakersfield Jam in D-League arriving to being between the first players of the Alloy in several specialties. Its statistics bring back 18,3 points to encounter with 7,5 bounces, 1,3 stoppate recoveries and 1.1 to game. Bowman is the third producer in D-League for points second realizes and the quarter to you for bounces (in those offensives); figure also between the best ones in the recovered balls and the stoppate ones. The polyvalency in the game guarantees to Bowman the fifth place in terms of efficiency in the special one classifies stilata from the D-League between the players who have disputed more than 10 encounter. The new player of Draghi makes of the speeds of feet and the rapidity of the race one of its better prerogatives; he knows to mark in agility in the traffic or to attack the basket leaving ball in hand; he has also a good ones jump shot from the average or long distance (35.3% from three points in D-League). To bounce a lot detached (80 centimeters of elevation from detention is made to feel thanks to an athleticism, a meter of detaches in race), characteristics that have concurred to it to classify themselves between the first ten players in the athletic tests pre-draft. In its career it is appreciated for the defensive aggressiveness that do not come to it never less and the ability than to defend on the long ones and the opposing small. Brandon Bowman and Hassan Adams, the other alien of Draghi, know since the adolescence very well. Neighbors of house to Los Angeles, have attended the Westchester High School. Bowman is cousins of the two players Nba Antoine and Samaki Walker.
"the negotiations with Brandon Bowman - the Giuseppe Rossini says d.s. - are begun 27 December, when we had decided to renounce to Jaime Lloreda, and have been rather fast also thanks to the fact that draft of a personal friend of Hassan Adams. We are happy that Bowman has accepted our proposal because technically is what we tried: an atypical four, express, aggressive defensively, that it knows to move in the tight spaces thanks to rapidity of feet and agility, but that it can also run the field in contropiede and hitting from the distance. In so far as it is adapted well to the game that we mean to make. We are also trusting on the fact that can become part quickly in our context, sight the staff, knits and long friendship with Adams "the march table previews that Brandon Bowman is in Italy in the first hours today. After the medical visits of ritual it will be to disposition. Sunday to Soresina could to make one's debut. Mark Plates

This seems really strange, he had been playing really well and I feel like he had a much better chance of making the league if he had stuck around than he does signing with some Italian team.

Yes and probably professionally as well. He's has a better shot coming from Europe than he does from the developmental league.

It looks like he's got Hassan Adams as a teammate. Didn't they go to high school together?

What kind of money do these guys make over there? I assume its nowhere close to NBA stuff, but they're not working second jobs, are they?

So the answer to that second question is "no." Actually being a starter in Europe is better than being a role-player, 10-day guy in the NBA by a pretty wide margin.

let me chime in for a second... I am Italian, I actually follow first division Italian basketball and I can tell you that even at the first division level you don't make great money as an unproven, mid season acquisition. That is at the FIRST division level... Brandon is going to play SECOND division i.e. he is making very little money (maybe $50k, pro-rated for the fact that he comes in mid-season ) but is probably given an apartment within walking distance of the practice facility.
Now - who does this? This is a way to audition for FIRST division clubs - in essence Brandon is going to fill a role left by a guy who was picked up by a first division club and I suspect that if he gets no offers by season end he will be coming back to the US.
1 Person who spoke to Brandon FOR SURE before he took the job, Kevin Braswell, who played for the same club in '03-'04.
