I've got a post on the Hoop Club Blog that gives a few of my thoughts on the year that was in Hoya Basketball: guhoyas.cstv.com/genrel/010108aaa.htmlThey've also been kind enough to let me post a photo album of my travels (as it were) in Hoya Basketball over the past twelve months: guhoyas.cstv.com/view.gal?id=20460&template=player_gallery27 of those photos were taken by me at some point during the past year. The exceptions are the group of us in the hotel lobby (RBHoya took it), the Kernersville, NC sign (my friend Chris took it) and the Hapeville, GA sign (RusskyHoya took that one). We decided against doing captions (it makes too much work) but they do go in chronological order so it's not hard to figure out where they came from. Anyways, while writing the post it got me thinking: Where does 2007 (the calendar year, not the 06-07 season) rank among the best years in the first century of Hoya basketball? I have far less of a historical perspective so I can't speak from any specific experience...but if you started listing all the amazing things that happened since January 1, 2007, it would get pretty good I figure. Sooooo...what does everyone think? And for that matter, what are everyone's favorite personal memories of the past year?

It is an honor to be included in that photo album.
2007 was certainly a great year!

Pretty sweet stuff, especially the pictures. Thanks, FL.
2007 was great, but now it's in the past. In 2008, we have a team that could surpass everything achieved last year and bring home a national championship... I can't wait to see it all unfold.

FL, you have, by my count, 23 facebook photo albums of pictures from the calendar year 2007 of Georgetown basketball. How you managed to choose only a subset of 30 I'll never know. I have even less of a historical perspective, but I would wager that 2007 has to be up there for those of you who were around for some or most of the first 100 years. My guess is there are few classes that can say any of their undergrad years were as exciting or eventful as 2007, and FL gets it right in the blog post, that it's amazing how close those experiences and games came to never happening. I think everyone who roadtripped to NYC/Hotel Penn, Winston-Salem/Kernersville, East Rutherford/Parsippany, and Atlanta/Hapeville-East Point (seriously, who planned these things?) should remember to thank Jeff Green's Mom for Jeff Green's Mom's Son.
I'll leave ranking 2007 to people with more perspective than I, but I think especially interesting is to think back and realize that not only were we 10-3 and unranked one year ago, but that we'd drop two more games within the first two weeks (home to Nova and @pitt). For everything that 2007 held in store, we are in stronger position now to build on it in 2008. Will it be as fun the second time around? Probably not, but I'll sure be interested to find out.
Also thanks for being judicious in your selection of Kernersville pictures. And to think I could have had a free banna puddin' [sic] if I would have just said Ben Howland's name.

Also thanks for being judicious in your selection of Kernersville pictures. Just the Kernersville ones? I'll be surprised if any of us end up employed with all those pictures alive on the internet

KRUKSTER - You are "that guy". I did not notice that the first time. After looking at the pictures again I also have to admit that I am impressed by the fiShut upl of money I have! Cafe 31 has certainly made a lot of money off of me over the years.

27 of those photos were taken by me at some point during the past year. You are a filthy, FILTHY liar. Note: when FLHoya says he took the picture, it was more likely than not taken by PhillyHoya. /disclaimer

First time I noticed you was when I saw the photo on GUHoyas.com. Also thanks for being judicious in your selection of Kernersville pictures. Just the Kernersville ones? I'll be surprised if any of us end up employed with all those pictures alive on the internet This answers the question of how I can pick 30 pictures out of a purported 23 albums...not as hard as you think when one of the criteria is "appropriate for GUHoyas.com"

Well done. This is why they pay you the big bucks. They do pay you a lot of money to do this, right? That's gotta be somewhere in the AD budget for sure (because they sure aren't spending it on other things *cough* football *cough* heh)
