Bet the Celtics brass had an interesting private reaction to this lottery twist.

From Wikipedia's page on Microfracture Surgery:
"... Some players such as Jason Kidd, John Stockton and Zach Randolph have been able to return at or near their pre-surgery form while players Brian Grant, Allan Houston and Penny Hardaway never regained their old form while others such as Jamal Mashburn and Terrell Brandon never recovered and retired. "In October 2005, young star Amare Stoudemire of the NBA's Phoenix Suns underwent one of the highest-profile microfracture surgeries to date. He returned to the court in March 2006 and initially appeared to have made a full recovery, but subsequently started feeling stiffness in both knees (his right knee had been overcompensating for the injured left knee). He and the team doctor decided he needed more time to rehab and he did not return until the 2006-2007 NBA season."
I don't think this is the group of players that Greg Oden dreamed his name would be associated with.

Simmons has a great article on the Oden injury. With all of the warning signs, you would think that drafting a 7 ft center #1 with such an obvious physical defect (the one leg shorter than the other) would have them go Durant. Oh well. The Blazers will be awful again next year and they will be able to draft a REAL center -- Big Roy Hibbert.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this - stuff like this may have been part of why Jeff decided to go pro.

Bill Simmons has been obsessed with Kevin Durant since he actually watched some CBB this past year and wrote in his blog. His column comparing Oden to Bowie is ridiculous--especially since Durant has proven nothing more then Oden at this point. You win in the NBA with big men--and taking Oden was the right pick. I hope he makes it back healthy--which I fully expect--and when he does--I'll say his impact is greater then Mr. Simmons thinks. Simmons also is a guy who has bashed Kevin Garnett in past--and then in typical Boston form--slurped him the minute he was traded to his team--I stand by the fact Garnett is not a dominant player--and it'll show up for Boston just like it did in Minnesota. Franchise players make franchises win--they don't win 2 playoff series in their entire career. That is difference between "FACE" of franchise and franchise player-but idiots like Simmons wouldn't know the difference--he's a guy who trashes Patrick Ewing--to the point of having a "theory" named after a man who accomplished 10 times more then anything half the people Simmons slurps have ever done.

Well said. The point of his latest Durant/Oden was just to pat himself on the back about saying Durant over Oden. Then he throws in some b.s. about noticing things at the ESPYs (name-dropping d-bag, we get it, you worked for Kimmel, congratulations Edited). Did he write anything about Oden at the ESPYs right after they occurred..of course not. This article was even worse than a recent article where he tries to get perspective on the Patriots' spying by asking another Patriots fan. What a Edited of an article that was...

strummer, that is classic!!!! How freaking tall is that chick or how low must Oden be bending for her to be near his height!!! Btw, where the heck did you find this? That girl looks slightly disturbing for some reason--can't figure out why though--I think it's her face.

I was looking for a picture of Oden CHARGING Jeff in the Final Four so I could post "Maybe he should have stayed on the ground." So I googled "Greg Oden, Jeff Green" and looked at the images. This was in there.

Man, that's an old pic. Its been circulating on the internet before last year's college basketball season even started. When I saw the unnamed link that strummer posted I knew that it would it lead to that particular photo. That's how old and well known that picture is. Still, I enjoy seeing it. It never gets old.
The girl could be 5'6 or so. Its all about the angle, which person is in the forefront and how much Oden is bending. I doubt she's 6 feet or taller.
