He will now plead guilty and seek leniency/mercy from a judge.
That is an opportunity that this animal gets;the ones he slaughtered did not.
Rot in hell Ron Mexico.
Oh, I'm sorry--it's a "cultural thing".

I agree that it's a cultural thing, but in a different respect. The only reason why this saga is so over-hyped is because Americans love dogs. Culturally, we treat dogs differently than any other animal. If Vick had financed a cock-fighting ring, or an illegal wild game hunting expedition, it would be a completely different story. But obviously it's not.
Americans love dogs. We treat them like we treat our family -- better sometimes. Michael Vick treated pitt bulls like any selfish, grossly insensitive jerk would treat a wild animal. He used them and their suffering for his own enjoyment.
That being said, some people need to rear things back a little bit. Michael Vick is not a murderer. Objectively speaking, he does not deserve to be executed for participating in the torture and death of so many dogs.
I'm sure many people will disagree with me, but I urge you to try to be as rational and objective as possible. Try not to let your own love for dogs cloud your ability to assess Michael Vick's crimes. When it comes down to it, he killed a number of animals. It just so happens that most Americans feel that the animals Vick killed are somewhat sacred beings, so he has lost his job, will go to prison, and is being vilified in many circles as a murderer. This is a severe punishment, but it's still not enough for many Americans.
It's a cultural thing.
