We are 11.5 point underdogs today. That is amazing, especially when you look at the last 5 games with SU and see that the largest margin of victory was a 9 point OT loss by us in '03.
Go HOYAS!!!!!

This is 3 or 4 points more than I thought it would be. Oh well...Vegas will come to appreciate the Hoyas soon enough...

Shouldn't you be loving the fact that "your" team is undervalued by the collective gambling public? Seems like a sports gambler's dream.

Don't forget that the Vegas line, esp. when it comes to "lesser known teams", and I would say that we are "lesser known" as far as our recent past, is a combination of what the oddsmaker think the outcome will be AND a point spread that will attract bettors to bet both sides evenly. In teams like GU, Vegas does not like to risk being surprised and taking a bath. therefore they set a line that will bring an equal number of bettors on either side. Vegas will make money on the juice. 11.5 maybe that point where SU faithful will think they will win by, and GU's think they will beat the spread. In better known games (Pats v. Steelers) the line more accurately reflects the expected outcome.

vagrant,
I hear what you are saying. It is the reason you never bet the Cowboys, because the line is always skewed against them because they have so many fans. The sad thing, is we used to be like that. Now it appears to have flipped around. A nice win tonight might move us back in the "right" direction (or wrong if you like betting the Hoyas).
