The best sign I have ever seen at a game was three years ago in the student section. "Hey Syracuse, I wiped my @$$ with your acceptance letter." God I wish that game was down here this year... always a good time.

Not G'town related, but how about this one (going way back).
At the Big Five triple header in the Palestra, sometime in the 60's, Villanova was playing Penn. Our point guard at the time was a kid named Chubby Cox. The Penn students rolled out a banner that read:
Villanova Cheerleaders Love Chubby Cox

Another non-Gtown one. A few years ago, a friend of mine who went to WFU had a sign that was so nice, he used it twice (UNC @ WFU and UNC @ Duke):
"Joe's forte is handling Cota's balls"

Non-Georgetown sign:
Late 1980's Austin Peay played Illinois. This was the night Vitale stood on his head. Austin peay had a sign that said "The flies open, let's go Peay!"

YO. That was my sign from Freshman year. One side said "Syracuse was my saftey school" and the other "I wiped my a#* with your acceptance letter"
Some Hoya fans didnt take to kindly to that one. I'm not sure why.
Thanks for remembering though. Im glad I could leave my mark.

i happened to like the guy who dressed up as a police officer and held a sign that said "troy may i see your id" or something to that effect after troy murphy had been arrested for using a fake id at a bar

The best written expression I ever saw at a Hoya game was from a certain "die-hard" from the late 90's. He was not the largest guy in the world, so for one of the ESPN Monday night tripleheaders, he painted across his torso...
"Small Chest, Big Monday"
It made the lead-in for Sportscenter that night.

my favorite was when kerry kittles was with villanova (iversons sophomore year i believe) and a student had, "Hey Kerry next time dial 1-800-COLLECT." He was busted for illegal phone card use, same thing that the recent Villanova players got busted for.
It was great, and we worked them by 20.

That was like the sign at the Big East Tourney after all the Nova players got busted - ESPN was televising the game and the sign read:
Everybody Stealing Pin Numbers
Also a great sign.

I remember that Kittles sign - so great. But I also remember that the US Air security/Gtown officials took it away from them - considered "inappropriate".
Anyone remember that crazy older dude who would get dressed up for games at USAir and called himself "Cheese"? I made Sportscenter after that amazing 1996 Gtown-UConn game (the one where Iverson had that sick dunk over their center) by going nuts with him for the ESPN camera when the guardrail gave out and all of us went sprawling on the floor. His wig went flying off and sent the guy scrambling. Good times . . . good times.

Went with the simple, direct route on Murphy's fake I.D. incident and it worked brilliantly. I appreciated the Syracuse acceptance letter one for a different reason. Normally I don't go in for the "safety school" category of signs/cheers...since they're normally sour grapes stuff when you're losing. But that sign I don't remember seeing until right at the moment when that game was in hand. Then they broke it out and got a great reaction from the student section and Editeded the Syracuse fans behind their bench off something fierce.
