As freshman he looked like he was going to be the next great one who got away. Last year, as a junior, it seemed like he did not do a lot, and now he is seeking a release from Arkansas. Any thoughts?

Any thoughts? hmm, interesting. He only has one year of eligibility left after he sits for transferring. I wonder where he ends up.

Should have stuck with Gtown in the first place. Would have developed better.
And Vernon Goodridge should have listened to his mother!

Darian Townes is still at Arkansas. As a junior, he averaged 8.1 points and 4.3 rebounds a game.

I do know that Townes asked for a release after Dana Altman was hired but the AD said that he should wait a few weeks and give the new coaching staff a chance. Altman as you all know went back to Creighton and Pelphrey got hired. Haven't heard anything about Townes wanting out since Pelphrey got the job.

Being from Arkansas, they are my second favorite team, i have watched closely Darien. First, he is not seeking a release or leaving the team. He will be around next year to finish off his career at Arkansas. Second, his skills have developed some at Arkansas, but his aggressiveness and fire have not. He has never seemed to develop into a true team player. The difference in development between Hibbert and Townes all boils down to hard work and desire. Townes has twice the athleticism of Hibbert but a fourth the passion and work effort. From what I hear he has been out of shape and rarely in the gym. I think he needed a change to motivate him and hope for big things from him this year. He has the talent to be a first round pick.
