Someone had asked earlier whether or not the Hoyas shoot poorly at MCI. I thought it was an interesting question, because, if true, it would not bode well to have a perimeter-oriented offense yet play at an arena that cause your shooting to decrease.
So I looked it up, and using every game over the last three years that the Hoyas have played versus a major conference opponent, this is the result:
2 point % at MCI/Non-MCI venues: 45%/44% 3 point % at MCI/Non-MCI venues: 32%/33% FT % at MCI/Non-MCI venues: 75%/73%
In short, we seem to shoot about the same no matter where we are. Now, obviously a lot of these non-MCI venues are similar to MCI, so this really doesn't answer the small gym/pro arena question, but it isn't meant to. We won't often face tough opponents in a small gym.

I asked the question. It looks like my theory on why they shoot bad at MCI has been shot down. Thanks for your research. I think this team is a better shooting team. I don't think we have had similar shooters at the guard and forward positions since the Jackson/Wingate/Martin days.

I would like us to be shooting the 3 in the high 30's and low 40's. Then, things will really work like clockwork.
