Has a nice ring to it. Something no Eagle has won since.

Now I can go back to watching the news and actually see some news, rather than Iggles hype 24-7. Kinda sad that I get so relieved when the Iggles are out of the playoffs.
I always knew Philly was a bad luck sport town, but I think it reached the true nadir with Smarty Jones...

It's also nice to know that Philly can again focus on its signature event, the Wing Bowl...

The barbs might be more effective if you guys weren't fans of the squad that those Eagles outplayed for 85% of the three games they met. While the difference between 1960 and 1991 is quite lengthy...after about five or ten years, does it really matter? What has anyone else in the NFC East won lately? I'd take the last six years of Eagle football, heartbreak, groin kicks, headaches and all, over the last six years of any other team save New England and maybe Pittsburgh.
And with the recent contract extension doled out in East Rutherford, and the crashing back to earth of Tony Simpson-Underwood, and the continued mismanagement in Landover...well, I'm thinking "Six Out of Seven" isn't all that far-fetched. And then when the Eagles inevitably lose a playoff game they should have won, it will hurt. But hey, at least they'll have made it. And then the sun will come up and all will be well until the following September. Unlike in East Rutherford, Dallas, and Landover, where things could be bad for a very long time.

Enjoy your moral victories then. I'll take my 2 Super Bowls during my lifetime over your division titles any day. Go ahead and cherish your division titles and NFC championship game teams. No one here talks about the 2000 team that went to the SB. Why? Because they lost. No one cares. In any other town that's ever won anything, unless you come back with the trophy, it means jack squat. You'll know what I'm talking about when the day comes that they win it all. I'm totally serious.

I prefer to live in the present & not the past, and I have to say that today, the NFC East sees the Eagles in a better position to win next year (OK, I look to the future a bit, but only because this season is over) than any of the 3 former Super Bowl winners.

Yet history tells us the Seagulls will never win... 'Tis a puzzlement And history once told us that the Red Sox would never win... And the White Sox... And the Buccaneers... And the Cubs... Okay, strike that last one.

Actually, the red sox had won; the White sox had won, and lost on purpose; and the bucs were only 28 years old when they won. The seagulls are 0-for-47 and 0-for the Super Bowl era.
Don't despair, there's always Wing Bowl for the mouth-breathing crowd whose greatest accomplishment is completing that insipid chant.

I have no stake in this, but let's face it, this is revisionist history. The Eagles have won. It may have been 47 years, but Dutch and the boys did hand Vince Lombardi his only championship loss. So don't give up hope, Iggle fans.
