I will first begin by saying that the Georgetown crew way up in the upper levels of the Pavillion did a GREAT job of cheering on the Hoyas. It was an honor and a pleasure to share the victory with such a fun group.
A lot has been said about this game, but one of the more bizarre things that I noticed has not been mentioned anywhere.
Did anyone else think that the halftime speech by Rollie was particularly odd when he was talking about staying at cheap motels so that the players would all get more meal money? I know a lot of us started talking about that, to the level where I thought there could be more chatter about that very odd admission.
Either way... GREAT game. GREAT pass. GREAT promise for the future!

Jahidi- Great job at the game. While the roof prevented us from reading the scoreboard, I know we were loud to annoy lots of Nova fans. Nothing is better than that. I thought that our fans did a great job despite our limited numbers. My senior year roommate flew in from Chicago for the game. We agreed that we never won games like this before. Let's hope this is the start of something new.
Go Hoyas. Beat the Cuse.

props to you guys from the nova board: Classic Big East battle. One team got up at home, the other didn't quit. Good crowd atmosphere, really impressed by the G-Town contingency in the upper Northern sections of the Pavillion. As I Nova fan, I'm still sick over the loss. May be the game that keeps us out in March. Real lost opportunity. As a fan of Big East hoops, if I had no rooting interest in the game, I loved it. villanova.rivals.com/showmsg.asp?fid=1159&tid=46628037&sid=&style=2

I think that the quote that 2007 provided from the Nova board is just one more argument against Nova as a a top, hated rival for the Hoyas. Syracuse and St Johns fans would never admit any pro-Hoya sentiment into their posts. That might be because the aren't the smartest fans in the world, but at the same time, I don't think we would be too kind to Syracuse or St Johns after a tough close loss either.

Also from the nova board, about Jay Wright being outcoached by JTIII:
"a lot of people leaving the game were saying Jay got out coached. Not just on that play, but the whole game."

Good to hear that other people are recognizing the coaching skills of Coach III.

First of all, I don't really go to the free board very often, but from what I've read, that poster is not a Nova fan. He has been known to constantly rip on our players, coaches, etc and most people dismiss him as an imposter. He's probably a St. Joe's fan (they seem to hang out on that board an awful lot).
Secondly, yes the Pavilion atmosphere was not up to par on Saturday. Many of the students were not back yet (classes don't start until tomorrow), and in fact the dorms were not even open. It was pretty much a wine and cheese crowd, unfortunately.
Third, for any Georgetown fan to make fun of the lack of crowd support at Nova is laughable. I've been to several GU games at MCI and that place has been quieter than a Sunday church service. Perhaps that is because you Hoya fans have not had much to cheer about in recent years. Perhaps that will change.

I'm not making fun of the lack of crowd support at all. I'm simply complimenting the Georgetown fans who made the trip up and supported the team well. Trust me, I know how bad MCI can get.
As for the students, I believe Buckeye70 said on the other board that there were 2,400 students at the game.

07,
I wasn't talking about you specifically.
And not to rag on my man Buckeye, but he has also claimed we can expand the Pavilion to seat about 10,000 people. Anyone who has seen the Pavilion will be amused by that lofty prediction. He has been on this crusade for some time. So his quote of 2,400 students at the game on Saturday is probably inflated (he does have good sources but I am guessing that was a wild guess on his part). The fact is that 2nd semester doesn't start until tomorrow and many students did not come back early for the game (probably because they had no place to stay!).
Anyway, see on the 2/27...
