JoePa's leg injury was just part of the story: "Sebastianelli revealed Wednesday that Paterno fractured three ribs about six weeks ago after getting blindsided by two players during a practice. The coach never disclosed the injury. "To give you a sense of the mental and physical toughness of this guy, he had three fractured ribs and never missed 10 seconds of practice," Sebastianelli said. "He got knocked down, knocked the dust off his pants and kept coaching." Hard to imagine what six weeks of fractured ribs feels like, much less if you're 79. www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/ap/college/4321064.html

It was miserable. It feels like you can't breath, like strange chest pains. You are never comfortable and the pain is often excruciating, especially if you do anything remotely active.
