unfortunately, he was not fired for his incompetence, the real reason he ought to go. Instead, he gets the axe for insensitivity. Kind of like taking the wrong road to the right place. He should have been fired years ago, for offending any intelligent baseball fan with his nonsense.

Being able to speak intelligently about baseball is not a requirement for a job as a baseball announcer, and it hasn't been for a long time.
