while we are bashing espn...can somebody explain to me why they use espn graphics for the college games on abc? The corporate honchos at ABC/Disney think ESPN is the premier sports media brand out there. So all CFB games on ABC are now styled "ESPN College Football on ABC." FWIW I think it's pretty dumb, too. They've gone even farther than that - the brand "ABC Sports" does not exist anymore. All sports coverage that will be shown on ABC going forward will be branded with "ESPN on ABC".

continuing with Bryant Tirico...Did anyone hear him do the exact thing that _way was talking about when Joey "Children Eater" Porter was doing the intros and doing the "Byah" thing from Chappelle (Sidebar: Porter was funny but it made me lock my doors). Then Tirico chimes in and goes into this explanation about how it is an imitation of Chappelle's imitation of Howard Dean from the '04 election. Just.Terrible.

I only watched the Cowboys/Skins game and not the one this week. My take: the most annoying things are the "celebrities" in the booth. I'm interested in the game and all they are talking about is the "celebrity". Bad!
I recall one zinger Tony had when Joe the Mouth said he thought Minnesota should feel better than Washington at halftime because of some mealy-mouthed reason and Tony chimed in he thought Washington should feel better because they were ahead on the scoreboard. Big pause. Zing.

unrelated, but i don't think i like the NBC Football Night in America as much as NFL Primetime. Berman got on my nerves, but i don't like the new format

Mike Tirico just said that the Saints game tonight can be summed up in one word "resiliencey" which notably is not a word - you cannot take a noun and add a y to the end of it and make another noun - this is notably the case with words such as strategy from whence the word "strategery" cannot be formed.

I thought Tony K's opening monologue was really good tonight.

I thought Tony K's opening monologue was really good tonight. Disagree. I thought he said nothing that hadn't been said before and better. Also, to hear him try to go into "serious mode" bothered me. It wasn't the worst thing I'd ever heard, but I wasn't impressed.

But I think he can start being funny any time now. And I don't just mean tonight. Cut loose, dude.

I'm thinking of changing my handle from "BuffaloHoya" to "Guns of Hoculi" or "Hoculi's Pythons" or some such name. That dude is ridiculous.

Tirico just did it again! Felt compelled to explain to us who "Isaiah" is in a conversation with Spike Lee about the Knicks. I had never noticed that before this thread.

Tony busting Theisman's chops repeatedly over the "running with his body over his legs" comment has been hillarious, despite being totally asinine.
