Insult his work if you want to, but we should be above attacks about someone's appearance. But I was going to post on the difference between Barker Davis's article in the Times and Camille 'AP' Powell's glorified box score in the Post. Davis provided real basketball analysis, some actual insight. Made it a really interesting read. I LOVE how this team shoots the ball! All these years watching them shoot brick after brick, going back to JT III's father. I always thought it was bad luck that great high school shooters suddenly couldn't shoot to save their lives when they arrived on the Hilltop, when in fact it was the disjointed, dadaist offensive "sets" we ran time and again that sucked the life out of presumably decent shooters. It just didn't create many good looks. This year we have decent shooters but more imporant we run a system that gives people opportunities to get open looks. I am just having so much fun this year. Big fun!

the disjointed, dadaist offensive "sets" we ran time and again Ya gotta love Frank Black! What's next? Full-court post-expressionist, Lichtenberg pop-art defensive presses??

Hegelian synthesis of JT's defense and Pete Carill's offense.

Hegelian synthesis of JT's defense and Pete Carill's offense. Actually, that's EXACTLY what the team needs (more work on the d while the Carillian offense continues to be perfected)! This team is 3-1 in conference despite BB shooting 20% from 3 and negligible offensive contributions from Roy. Imagine what the team could do offensively if those two weaknesses are ironed out!!?!!!

You mean what happens if Bowman learns to shoot and Hibbs's extra left foot is replaced by a right one? Sky's the limit.

You mean what happens if Bowman learns to shoot and Hibbs's extra left foot is replaced by a right one? Sky's the limit. Now, now. You and I saw BB light it up from 3 at Kenner and his 3pt. shooting % was much better earlier in the year. I hope it's just a temporary thing with him although I also suspect that opposing defenses are keying on him on the perimeter. Which means more oppys. for him to drive and dish or even jam as he did nicely in one sequence at the Pavilion. Obviously, Roy is a longer-term project but he continues to work very hard and has a great attitude. He doesn't have two left feet as much as is still learning the game and working on conditioning/moves....

Hegelian synthesis of JT's defense and Pete Carill's offense. That's a potent dialectic if there ever was one.

You're right about Bowman, WBH, but the jury is definitely out on Big Roy. If he could just rebound, I'd feel great about him.

Good explanation, FB, of the shooting woes of past Hoyas. I always assumed it was a virus endemic to the GU campus that infected remarkable HS shooters, altering their shots just enough to rim out or on occasions to miss the basket completely.

So who wants to bet that there has not nor ever will be a poster on the cuse board (let alone multiple ones) that reference dadaism, hegel, synthesism, and dialectics.
So anyone want to bet? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
