Where can I find some video of this? Tough one, Austin. Tough. This was a once-in-a-lifetime, out-of-the-blue, Marv-decided-to-sing-at-a-press-conference event that took place at LEAST a decade ago, long before people were saving crazy video for the web.

Actually, this was a post for Buff. I noticed that his LEAST favorite receiver is back on his team. I think only SFHOYA caught my attempt at sarcasm. Been out of town, sorry aggy. Don't get me started on Marv bringing back PeerLESS. I went through five years of Donohoe directing the Bills with no clear "plan": people couldn't figure out what he was building from year-to-year, whether it was bringing in young guys, vets, offense, defense... the guy was a joke. We've only had Marv back for a few months, but already people can see what he's trying to build, the kind of players he wants, etc... ... and then he brings back this joker. And he's going to make the team over more deserving guys (I have a feeling a few solid, young wideouts are gonna get cut). And I'm going to cry. Of course, I'm going to give PeerLESS the benefit of the doubt and give him a chance to redeem himself and his pathetic, early-in-his-career attitude. So we'll see... EDIT: Of course, leave it to hifi to completely hijack a thread to serve his own agenda. What an @$$hole... not quite the bitter profanity-laced response I was hoping for, but I'll take it for now. The season hasn't even started yet. I'm sure you won't let me down.

not quite the bitter profanity-laced response I was hoping for, but I'll take it for now. The season hasn't even started yet. I'm sure you won't let me down. Here's my take on PeerLESS: 1 - He's a good receiver. He's got all the tools to be a solid pro for many years, he just lets his head get in the way. He used to think he was one of the best in the game, a #1 without question... and then he goes to Atlanta (and a short stint in Dallas) and [EDIT: Forgot I can't type s-u-c-k-s around here] it up for three years. I've always liked Price as a reciever, I've just always hated him as a professional athlete. The guy has always had this over-inflated sense of self that Bills fans used to have to hear about ALLLLLLLL the time, even BEFORE his big season in 02-03. But I will say this - his EMBARASSING three seasons away from the Bills seem to have humbled him... a bit. He DID skip an entire day of practice a week or so ago, claiming he read the schedule wrong. It was no big deal, the team wasn't mad at him and only fined him the requisite amount, but it raised flags with fans. This is a guy who as a number TWO receiver used to pull the occasional "gimmie the damn ball" crap, and I'm wondering if that episode (which followed a game in which he caught NO balls and only played one series with the first-team offense) is a harbinger of things to come. We'll see. Like I said, if he's truly turned a corner and has settled into accepting the fact he's a #2 and just wants to win, I'll change my opinion of him... but that's a big "if." 2 - Remember, on this incarnation of the Bills he is STILL a #2 receiver, opposite Lee Evans. Evans is a stud, and is going to command the same attention Eric Moulds did on Price's first go-round with the Bills. Our offensive coordinator is Steve Fairchild, who has worked with the Rams the past few years in the same capacity (if I remember correctly). The offense is going to spread the ball around amongst the receivers with Evans in the role of Torry Holt (or Issac Bruce in the early years) and Price at BEST in the Az Hakim role. Maybe the old-school Ricky Prohel (sp?) role. If he's cool with that and does his job, awesome. He'll kick ASS in that role, make the occasional SportsCenter for a monster play or two (as he did with his 54-yard catch-and-run against the Browns a couple weeks ago). But if he starts up again with this "I should be getting more touches" crap, he's right back in everyone's doghouse. He's not the Torry Holt of this offense and never will be. The sooner he realizes that and works with what he's given, the better off the team will be and the sooner I (and most other Bills fans will) come around on him. As I've always said, Price just AIN'T THAT GOOD. He's a solid #2 at best (as opposed to an exeptional one like Larry Fitzgerald or Reggie Wayne), and should get it through his thick head. 3 - While I've always appreciated him as a WR, I think he's at the point in his career where he falls into my "No Better Than Theory," which merely states if you are paying some guy a few million and he's no better than his backup, cut his ass (i.e. Price is getting good money, about what the market would pay out, but he's no better than George Wilson or Andre Davis... cut his ass, save the money). As such, I see no reason for the Bills to keep him over the aforementioned Wilson or Davis, who are both more explosive off the ball/gain greater separation than Price (based on what I've seen through four pre-season games). In other words, the Bills WR corps (were it up to me) should look like this: Evans is the clear #1 and a future Pro Bowler, Roscoe Parrish is an excellent slot/gadget receiver, Josh Reed is good on special teams and as a #4, and any combination of Sam Aiken (our BEST special teamer), Andre Davis, Jonathan "Fast Freddie" Smith (who can return punts, ask the Patriots), and George Wilson not only makes the corps as good as it would with Price, but it would make the corps CHEAPER. The Bills are already in great cap shape, but dumping Price would give them even MORE room next off-season. Essentially, Price is around because of his experience, reputation, and what he's done in seasons past. I'll reserve judgment to see if he's accepted his REAL role in the league and has a productive, team-oriented year.

Buff, once again you are the jacka$$ not me. I 'hijacked' the thread. ? In this thread about a particular wide receiver with some degree of baggage I wrote this: On a related note, Colin Cowherd did a segment highliting the numerous wideouts with "baggage." He had a theory about why so many of the troublesome primadonas are wide receivers. And if you think about it, there sure are a lot of them with "issues." From Terrell Owens to Randy Moss to Horn to Ashley LeLei(sp?) to Deon Branch to Santonio Moss etc... Colin's theory was that they were an island from the start. They break the huddle and run out there on their own. Everyone else is kind of together. In a tongue in cheek sort of way I think he might have had a point. Definitely on topic and broadening the scope by paralleling Price with some of the other head cases. Then someone gives their opinions on Cowherd ... and the conversation naturally turned for a while to Cowherd and/or sports talk radio. If you want to blame someone for this I would think the likely candidate would be the poster whose comments were about Cowherd. That is really where any "hijacking" happened although I would more consider it a natural progression of conversation. In any case, you once again prove yourself to be a boob by jumping at any and all opportunity to jump down my throat for absolutely no reason. You're a piece of work alright.

In any case, you once again prove yourself to be a boob by jumping at any and all opportunity to jump down my throat for absolutely no reason. You're a piece of work alright. 1 - It is crystal clear, 100% NOT on-topic. The topic was Peerless Price and how much of a dope he is despite his natural gifts, not the attitude problems of wide receivers in general. If you want to talk about what your boy Cownerd said about wide receivers in general, start your own thread rather than shoving your agenda on someone else's. 2 - By "broadening the scope" and "paralleling" you are changing the topic. That, by definition, is hijacking the thread. Don't get me wrong, you weren't alone and others certainly helped by jumping in the fray, but you (once again) were the impetus for the hijacking. Can't argue with that, jackass. 3 - We've somehow managed to get back on topic. Leave it alone. Its PeerLESS time!!! (As a Bills fan, I never thought I'd say that). 4 - As for jumping down your throat, I only do so when you deserve it. When you're relevant and on-topic, I (dare I say it) enjoy reading some of your posts if only for a different point of view, and I'll hop in on the discussion (college football, some of your "Blue & Gray" posts). Here, you deserved it. Believe me, I don't have the venom for you other posters do (I have more important things to worry about... like clipping my toenails), it just gets on my nerves when you derail threads with comments you should know by now will cause the derailment. Fair enough?

I'm not going to get into this type of Editeding contest. Suffice it to say that we have a difference of opinion. I think that within the scope of talking about a particular wide receiver who has a case of primadonitis, in this case Perrless Price, a natural progression would be comparisons to others similar players with similar attitudes. That was my sole point. Did I mention what someone else said about that topic? Yes. But the point was not to direct the discussion towards talk radio, but rather to discuss the topic at hand. When you insult me every single time, it really shows that you aren't as interested in any legitimate conversation, but rather with promoting soem unknown agenda ... that being unwarranted criticism of me for some unspecified reason.

Holy cow! Colin Cowherd on the national scene. Since I don't have cable, I didn't realize that former local sportcaster, CC, has assumed a national role. I did know that after Las Vegas, he went to Portland, where we used to see him doing the sports, when visiting our son in college at the time.

He does the 10am-1pm block for ESPN radio. He also does a segment of "Spanning the Globe" on SUnday mornings around 10am on ESPN TV.
