Did any of you who went to any of the summer camp games see or remember anything about Chandler Parsons? He is a 6'8" forward from Winter Park and is taking an unofficial visit to UF this weekend. I honestly haven't heard much about him, but an impressive list of schools are recruiting him, with Notre Dame, Tennessee, LSU, Indiana and Oklahoma joining Florida on his short list. For what it is worth, he is teammates of Nick Calathes, who is already a UF commitment for next season.
The only thing I have read about his summer games was that he led his Nike Peach Jam tournament in scoring at 25.4 points per game.
Is he a "real deal" or just some typical outside shooter who was the BMOC in high school against questionable competition who will fade into oblivion at a major University?

i'm sure someone at the UF boards could help ya out better than someone here, because we are interested in Georgetown recruits and players, not gators.

I'm not being a jerk ... at least not on this thread. I know that at least a couple of you guys went to watch some of the games, and was just curious if anyone remembered anything about him. It's one thing to read press clippings and the sort. Furthermore, I might ... just might get a more unbiased opinion from you guys.

How the BLEEP does a guy who plays on the same team as a Gator commit and is being recruited by Florida, not have enough info for you to find out about? I suggest if you want to see him play, then you should visit his school/town and watch him. This type of thread is why everyone despises you EDITED.

Lighten up Francis. You guys had specific threads discussing some of the various Summer All-Star camps. In specific, at least a couple of you went to different games at times. This Parsons guy is certainly "under the radar" so to speak, but with a recruiting list including Indiana, Notre Dame, LSU, Tennessee and Oklahoma he must have some degree of "game." I was just curious if anyone happened to remember this guy.In any case. I will take your answer to be "no."

That's a nice reference to Stripes-but need to upgrade the material bit---it's 2006 afterall. As for the point which you fail to acknowledge-- he's a HS kid from FLORIDA,he's being RECRUITED BY FLORIDA--and is a TEAMMATE of a FLORIDA COMMIT-how EDITED do the Gator sites not have anything on him/his game? Shouldn't they have more accurate answers--afterall they've likely seen the kid play more games due to fact that most of your fanbase is centered in the STATE OF FLORIDA!!! As I said, you wonder why people despise you here, and did you ever think of the above information or did you even care? If the latter is the answer, you should be BANNED from the site for just being a troll and out to cause trouble. If you didn't think of this, you deserve to be banned for simply being EDITED.

RDF, I am not going to beat a dead horse. Like I mentioned before, I have read the press clippings and the sort. Given that just a month or so ago, several people here were discussing some of the players from the NIke and Adidas camps that they had seen in person, I thought they might be a decent source of unbiased information. I am sorry if you feel so offended by such a reasonable question. Don't worry, I won't bother you about it anymore.
By the way: with the context you used, the correct word would have been "update."

Well there have been 3 Parsons updates on Rivals/Scout this week, including one from Florida's Scout site, so I'd say you should read those updates and maybe email the guys who wrote them and have seen Parsons play more then just at one event. You aren't making any point other then to prove you are a troll when you start threads like this.

Do you read material from UF sites? Do you know that updates from other sites on players appear if it's related to players your team is involved with?? The fact is that nobody on this site cares about UF basketball and despite the fact people attended a Camp, nobody here was at the Nike Camp which Parsons--a teammate of Calathes attended--it's not an "open" camp and he plays on Nike AAU affiliated team--so asking people who attended the ABCD Camp doesn't come into play. That comment you made about Hoyas last loss was just stupid. Low class too. I guess I'm too busy on this site to go to others and be a troll. What I'm really amazed with is the tolerance of the administration of this site. If I did what Hifi does here on a Scout/Rivals site, I'd have been banned from ever posting, but guess his presence is needed for some reason.

I am still amazed at your sensitivity or lack thereof. It is fairly clear that I did nothing wrong.
On the thread for pro and college teams I posted the Gator schedule. Big deal. I did actually have a point. I was hoping for civil discussion concerning out of conference scheduling. I was also going to bring into it the differences between a larger conference having 16 or 18 teams, such as the Big East and contrast that with the Big Ten or the SEC. It got locked and the discussion never got started. I did start a thread about the rankings of Unversities and made a joke about UF being #13 and GU being #23 ... of course the UF ranking was of Public Institutions while the GU ranking was of all Universities, both publid and private. I did ask the joking question how Tiger liked his last loss, obviously making reference to out tournament game with you guys, but it was totally in context after he was ragging on Florida for the 2 losses to South Carolina. And here I was simply enquiring about a particular player. I honestly didn't know exactly how the summer camp/touring works. I didn't know that this Nike team didn't participate in that particular Nike camp. Sorry for asking. I think it is really you who are trying to start a Editeding contest for no reason.

How do you NOT know this? Don't you talk/ask Gator fans? You can't tell me a program that just won a National Title doesn't have a fanbase that follows their recruiting? That is my problem. We are not here to find info for Florida players or discuss it. If it comes up and is started by a Hoya fan, fine, but it's not for other fans to come here and always mention the University of Florida or whatever team they follow--maybe you'd have figured out that "TigerHoya" is a Clemson supporter by now--his references to teasing you about UF's losses to South Carolina have nothing to do with Georgetown and everything to do with the fact he despises South Carolina and wants them to lose all of the time.
What you do is being a troll--your discussion has ZERO to do with Georgetown basketball at all times, and notice how nobody has a problem with your posts in the CFB Thread? That is because you actually are on topic and adding to something. Everything else, especially this thread is off topic and has no business being on this site.
You want to find out info on Chandler Parsons or any other recruit that Florida is involved with and Georgetown has ZERO INTEREST, I suggest you do something you seemingly never do and that is visit a GATOR SITE/ask Gator fans about him.

Here, here. Of course, this is the same chump who's been trying to get us to do his leg-work since the day he signed up for HoyaTalk. I said it then, and I'll say it again: if you've got the time to come to a Georgetown Hoya board and ask questions about Florida-related issues, you've got the time to go to a Florida board and ask. Hell, use Google. Anything. Just quit coming around here and acting an a$$hole 75% of the time. If you take anything from what RDF just posted, I'd focus on: What you do is being a troll--your discussion has ZERO to do with Georgetown basketball at all times, and notice how nobody has a problem with your posts in the CFB Thread? That is because you actually are on topic and adding to something. Everything else, especially this thread is off topic and has no business being on this site. And a great comparison between HoyaTalk admins vs. Scouts/Rivals admins, RDF...

BTW, that kid Parsons committed to Florida today--and I've checked the Gator sites--updates are up on both their Scout/Rivals sites and on the National Scout/Rivals sites.
End of discussion/topic.
