Latest troubles (includes having a loaded rifle and 3 loaded handguns in his car): sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2544230I am thinking UConn may have just identified a potential assistant coach for its football team.

The more I learn about Clarett, the more I am amazed that he didn't go to FSU.

I love how he was wearing a bulletproof vest as well. I don't even want to know where he was going that he felt he needed to take multiple weapons and throw on a bulletproof vest. While drunk of course...
Also, I love the names of the places he gets arrested. First it was the "Opium Lounge", now it's "Tee Jaye's Country Restaurant."
I'm looking forward to his autobiography.

I think it is awesome that the stun gun didnt affect him when it hit his vest.
That must've been a hoot to see. A definite "What now, b*tch?" moment that would have definitely scared this whitey cop.

The more I learn about Clarett, the more I am amazed that he didn't go to FSU. Tell me about it! Too bad he didn't just punch his girlfriend repeatedly in the face like a Gator cornerback would. FSU is quite the disgrace, though. Of course, they didn't kick Katrina refugees out of Gainsville hotels to make room for an opposing team's visiting fans. Take a look in the mirror...

Oh, come on now Buff. You are a might off on this one. I presume you are talking about Avery Atkins, a very promising freshman corenerback last year. His "fiance" filed charges of abuse in Volusia county after she claimes he slapped her during a verbal argument in the car. Eye witnesses have only corroborated his side of the story which was that she was yelling and swinging at him. Officers found no indication that she received any blow. Even so, Atkins was dismissed from the team. I actually think Meyer might have taken the "high road" a little too quickly, but I do understand his motive. He will not tolerate off-field problems. From everything I have read Avery really may very well be the victim here. But in any case even if he is at fault then the incident still reflects positively on the University. No school is free from off-field incidences. The real key is how they respond to them. UF has always taken a very firm disciplinary approach and under Meyer that policy has only increased. FSU on the other hand almost makes a mockery of discipline. They almost pride themselves on seeing how much trouble they can get into and out of. There is zero comparison.

Your starting corner beats up his girlfriend and it reflects POSITIVELY on the school?!? You're so deluded its frightening. They kicked him out of school, big whup. Hate to break it to you, most schools would have done the same (ya hear that, Calhoun?). Besides, I wasn't making a comparison. Apparently you can't read all that well. My point was simply to take stock of your own program before faulting another (I could also mention that Charles guy, Channing Crowder, some other corner I remember getting arrested at a nightclub... Grace?). I agree, Meyer seems to have "cleaned up" the program in the way Butch Davis apparently did during his time at Miami. But let's not act like your boys are choir boys. That's all. Besides, this isn't a FSU-UF thread, you jackass. Nobody here cares about you or them. Its comical how you try and make everything about Florida when you know nobody gives a rats ass.

Besides, this isn't a FSU-UF thread So true. This is about one man's attempt to do what every College Age male has dreamed about: Play Grand Theft Auto in real life. That man is a Bad ASS

Buff, you are still missing my point. I never pass up a chance to rib FSU anywhere and everywhere, and rightfully so. That place is so infested with everything that is bad in college athletics and because of that senile old man for some reason they are constantly getting a pass in the National Media. Their track record is HORRID. They have every possible type of infraction on their resume and in duplicate. Some guys like Peter Warrick and Janikowski had multiple pages on their own rap sheet. The part that gets me is that it continues year after year. The NCAA has an infraction called "the Lack of Institutional Control." I have no idea how they keep avoiding NCAA issues.
As for my school, once again I don't mean to imply that we are perfect. But we are very much above average with regard to discipline. The Charles guy was Taurean Charles and yes, he deserved to get kicked out of school. I am still not sure about Atkins. His fiance' was a known emotional flake and the facts remain that the clerk inside the store backed up what Avery said in that she was the aggressor and yelling and waving at him. And like I said before the officers could see no blemish on her at all which would indicate he made any sort of contact with her. He was not originally arrested, but she went down and filed charges after the fact. I honesltly don't know what to think. In any case he was dismissed almost immediately. As for Channing Crowder ... his was a typical dosturbing the peace issue when a club was closing down for the night at 2am. That doesn't make it right in any way, but far from noteworthy. And that is about it for a 4 year period. I think you would have a hard time finding a school with a more clean record than that, but again my real point is how the school responds to these types of incidents. And UF simply doesn't play games with it at all. And it isn't just Meyer, although that is certainly his philosophy as well. Spurrier for all his other "qualities" didn't put up with foolishness like that at all either.
