Just curious ... is USC Upstate a new name or a new University? Since it is in Spartanburg, I wonder if is the former Spartanburg College. Just curious

USC-Spartanburg was the old name. No such place ever existed as Spartanburg College to my knowledge. Spartanburg Methodist College is a JUCO that is known for baseball. Wofford College is a I-AA school there where the Carolina Panthers have training camp and Converse is an all girls' school.
UPDATE: I also left out where a buddy of mine went back to school in Spartanburg - Sherman Chiropractic College.

I was talking about Spartanburg Methodist. I didn't know that was the name. When we lived in Greenville when I was 3 or 4 my dad had to commute to Spartanburg several day s a week.
In any case, thanks for the clarification.
