Big Bruce is gonzo: soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=373876&cc=5901Who do you want to see take over? My vote is for someone with a scorching hot wife so ABC has plenty to show during the next World Cup (lord knows they can't go five minutes without showing someone's wife/girlfriend).

Well the talk has been to try and get Juergen Klinsmann german's coach. I think this would be great. he did well with the german team and lives in california. But i think one thign is for sure that we need a foreign coach.

I hope Klinsmann's apparent complete lack of interest in the position is just for show at this point as an attempt to get out of the spotlight for a little while, because he is far and away the favorite.
I think Nowak would do a solid job, but I don't want to see him leave United. One coach the ESPN article doesn't mention is Guus Hiddink (Korea in 02, Australia in 06). He's obviously been successful with second- or third-tier teams, which is what the US is. (The FIFA rankings are finally almost relevant enough to establish this.) And there are rumors that his contract to coach Russia in 2010 might be on the verge of collapse. Either way, I don't see a new hiring coming for a couple of months.

Arena was clearly the best choice last time, so I'm leery of any US coach.
I think Klinnsman is a lock. Give it a bit of time.

I definatley think it should be an outsider and the obvious choice is Klinnsman. I dont want a South American coach either....they suffer from even worse problems with recognizing young talent than the US. Besides Klinssman, i think Scolari (former coach of Brazil 02 and Portugal this year) would be a good candidate, but highly unlikely.

yes FL you're right he will continue to coach protugal so that's not an option at the moment. Dutch coaches are in high demand and well respected we may turn the the netherlands for a coach.

While Scolari always produces competitive teams...they consistently underachieve and he has helped to perpetrate the current dive-first-ask-questions-later style that has marred the game. With that in mind, I say let Portugal keep him and his incredulous stand-alone mustache.
