I'm especially excited about seeing Polish National team players Maciej Zurawski and Artur Boruc. Zurawski was extremely dissapointing in the world cup but I blame that partially on the coaches decision to use him as a lone striker, which is not his strength by any means. sport.wp.pl/gid,8258451,kat,32272,galeria_zdjecie.html?ticaid=11f05

If I were in DC I would be there. I've seen Celtic twice in Seattle against Man U and Chelsea, but haven't gotten to see them win yet. Hopefully Adu learns a thing or two from some world-class opposition.
Two of my favorite teams and I'm 3000 miles away. Damn, I should have stayed in DC for the summer.
Agree with 007 on Zurawski, he plays much better at Celtic when he has a partner up top (Sutton, Hartson, Beattie, etc.)

Yeah, he did. I guess I wasn't paying much attention once the WC started.

That was def not their full squad. The polish players that I specifically went to see were not there. Still a fun very fun match though.

They looked horrible, really surprising to see them be completely embarrassed like that.

Yeah i was very surprised at the lack of quality play from celtic. I really want to know how many of those who started were normal starters. There's no way celtic should've been beaten that throughly by DC.

DC rested four normal starters as well (including Perkins [GK] and Moreno [F], both just named to the MLS all-star team). Fun win by DC though.

I was just reading on a Polish soccer board that Celtic was missing Boruc (GK) and Zurawski (which Ive already mentioned, and also Nakamura, and two defenders.
They are obviously better with them in the lineup, but that still means a lot of those guys on the field last night are expected to play. They better pick it up, cause that was hideous.

The celtic keeper who played was pretty bad. I think he was australia's back up keeper who they played in one game during the world cup and botched a very easy save in that game. He nearly did the same thing on several occasions last night.
Also i was told the reason Moreno was gone was because of the ESPYs. and Rimando has been DC's starter for a long time but due to injuries perkins got to start this season and has done such a good job they haven't given nicky his job back. I don't blame them cause nick is a pretty good shot stopper but absolutely horrible in the air.

Both teams started 6 first 11 players and 5 reserves. DC was in mid-season form. But still - this was an American squad opening a huge can on a team that played in the champions league last year.
Good lines from the game:
Screaming Eagles cheers - "We want Rangers" and "Can we play you every week" (a Celtic cheer when they play crappy teams).
