Nice. They really turn out some fine young men down in Durham don't they?
I must admit that when I read the title of the thread, I immediately thought it was a George Michael deal, though...

Well he couldn't have been in the "Huggins territory" for level of inebriation, since he apparently knew he shouldn't have been driving.
Obviously a DWI is bad, but of course this is only a story because of who was arrested. Maybe he's presenting a case for the Trailblazers draft pick. . .

This just in:
J.J. stands for Jungle Juice.
Let's see the contortions Vitale does to excuse this one.
Nice Leadership coach K.

Lock it up, and we'll move the JJ-bashing to the "College and Pro Sports" board...

Correction: Wild Turkey This is completely understandable when you consider that the table ordered 27 shots and he was there with Dockery, Nelson, and Melchionni. JJ had no choice but to take 26 of them. Coach's orders.

Normally only lurk in the offseason, but had to sign on to applaud GIGA for his response. Laughed out loud.

Why is everyone calling this an isolated incident? Didn't he say he liked playing beruit in an interview last year? And wasn't his name implicated in the DOPS blotter in The Hoya in connection with a counch burning incident last January?

I think this is really a non-story. 1st DWI (assuming this is JJ's 1st DWI and assuming the state has a case) isn't going to put JJ in the clink, and it's not like he jepoardized lottery pick status by getting pulled over.
Interesting that with with the World Cup going on, MLB in full swing, the NBA finals going on, the Stanley Cup Finals going on, and NFL talk heating up, ESPN.com still puts two non sports gossip stories (Redick arrested for DWI and Big Ben's motorcycle crash) as the top 2 lead stories. More evidence for my theory that ESPN is trying to re-mold itself as an US Weekly for dudes.

This charge is total BS - JJ took 18 shots as reported, but he could only get 3 to go down.
I heard the magistrate had to set a pretty high bond because JJ's next important appearance is in March and the judge was afraid he might not show up.
