Wow...golly...other than Ohio State-UNC, those are some pretty wretched/awful/unappealing matchups. Jeebus...if I wanted to see Clemson-Minnesota, Penn State-Georgia Tech, Miami-Northwestern, Virginia-Purdue, etc., I'd watch the NIT more often.

First Clemson-Minnesota game since the 97 Sweet 16 game I think...
missed that one totally, was at basic training at the time...
went at least 1, maybe 2, OTs if I recall

Michigan vs. NC State? Could this be the long-awaited revival of the Tommy Amaker-Craig Esherick coaching rivalry?

yeah the match ups suck but that UNC v. Ohio st. Match is going to be pretty awesome if both teams are as good as expected.

Why do these matchups suck? Because both these conferences, outside of UNC and Ohio State, will mostly suck next season. Let's review:
Dook: McRoberts and Paulus can't carry this team BC: Loses key players NC State: JOKE Florida State: Um, actually might do pretty well with the rest of the conference down Maryland: Program defines the term "downward spiral" Clemson: Sorry Tiger, but Clemson is perenially mediocre at best Miami: Chances to win left with Diaz? UVA: See FSU Va. Tech: Football school Ga. Tech: Young, young team could actually surprise Wake: Should be better, but still not a conference contender
Illinois: Brown, Augustine gone Iowa: Peaked last season with seniors Wisconsin: Solid with Tucker staying Indiana: New coach, White gone? Michigan: One word: Ammaker Michigan State: No Davis, No Ager, possibly no Brown = no talent Penn State: Yeah, right Northwestern: Perennial doormat Minnesota: One word: Monson Purdue: Needs another year to bounce back

Austin, I'm used to the basketball thing, I can deal with it better than football being down, but the things Purnell is doing, especially recruiting wise, are really encouraging me.
