Talk to me in October pal... Like you'll be there. You just lost a series to the Washington Naitonals. Let that sink in. Seriously Torrie doesn't know how to manage a national league series - he put in Posada - his back up catcher - in the 6th inning of the game on Friday - nobody does that in the national league. Then he screws up the bullpen so he has to have one pitcher go all 9 innings on Sunday - yet he used a ton of relievers on Friday. Basically he was over-agressive on Friday and cost the team the series. I'd hesitate to criticize a manager who's won four World Series and did an ok job with the Cardinals as "not knowing how manage a National League Series", but hey, I mean, just because Tom Kelly (and Joe Torre, and well, pretty much every AL manager) outmanaged Bobby Cox, that doesn't mean that he doesn't know how to manage an American League series, right? Its cool though--I know you're just taking out your frustrations at the fact that America's...oh wait, I mean Atlanta's team... is in the NL East cellar, looking up at not only the more talented Phillies and Mets, but the Nats and Dontrelle, Miggy and the Kids from Florida. (That being said, only Yankees fans are so bad at recieving trash talk that they respond with cracks about the playoffs. Kinda hard to respect a franchise that drops $200 million plus and is going to have fight for a playoff berth)

Funny you mention Torre and Atlanta. He was run out of Atlanta and he had some pretty good talent (Murphy, Horner, Claudell Washington, Bruce Sutter, Chris Chambliss) Weren't they an NL team back then?
I am surprised Yankess fans didn't respond with "How many World Series rings has X team won?" in addition to the playoff cracks.
Atlanta had a tremendous run that has to come to an end sometime. They are not the free-spending organization that they were in the Ted Turner days or even in the beginning of the Time Warner days.

I've posted a link below where you can read about the Nationals new ownership making changes at RFK stadium in order to get more fans show up. This re-opening of RFK stadium will start for this weekend's series against the Cubs. If any of you make it out, tell us if you noticed a big difference in the presentation. I'll be out there a few days later when that CLOWN BARRY BONDS comes to town. Some of you like to rip Jim Bowden, but he RIPPED OFF the Cincinnati Reds with that trade. The Reds give up 2 young everyday players for 2 average middle relievers and an aging shorstop.......THE REDS GM IS AN IDIOT! www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/07/10/AR2006071000696.html
