Don't you understand that we don't care about your team and that you shouldn't bother posting it on any forum?
Why do you keep coming back? Isn't there enough to talk about on your own board? If we want to talk about other teams thats fine, and if we discuss the Gators I have no problem with you voicing your opinion. However, coming onto another message board and starting threads about your team is pointless and stupid.

Please move this thread to its proper forum and give Hifigator a final enforceable warning that he is banned the next time he posts about his Aunt Edna or the Swampthings in the HoyaTalk Georgetown basketball forum. We don't care. Every one of his threads since the Georgetown-Florida game has been off-topic. EdStimes was banned for far less. I am sorry I put this in the wrong forum. I guess it should be in the College/Pro teams. But don't act like I have somehow committed the unpardonable sin. Just at quick glance thread topics on this board included who is going to coach at NC St. and a Maryland transfer going to GW. Yes, those are basketball topics but not directly Hoya topics. Still, I will try to make a point of posting on the appropriate boards. But deed down inside, I don't think that the real reason you are so agitated is because the topic isn't directly related to the Hoyas. Just a hunch ... NC St. job - Beilein's name was being volleyed around. Beilein is the coach at W. Virginia. WVU is in the Big East. We play them Maryland and GW - do yourself a favor and point that high-powered brain of yours towards a map. They are geographically relative. We compete for the same recruits in the DC area. Your hunch - there might be some people on here that are bitter about the GU/UF game. Having said that, I think that folks who post here don't care about UF basketball now b/c we won't see you during the regular season. Personally, I don't mind most of your posts. It does strike me as odd that you post here when there are tons of conversations to be had with like minded people on the UF message board. Spring Football just ended and I think that your baseball team is pretty good.

We don't compete with GW for recruits. They typically are left with scraps from high major programs.

It does strike me as odd that you post here when there are tons of conversations to be had with like minded people on the UF message board. Spring Football just ended and I think that your baseball team is pretty good. I know that both Maryland and GW are your neighbors, but the point was that there are other topics on the board, which are somewhat tangential to GT but not solely and directly related to GT. Yet no one complains about them. Who is leaving early from other schools is another obvious example. These threads too would be more appropriately placed in the College/Pro forum. Yet some people conveniently ignore that fact but focus on me because I am an "outsider." I just don't understand the animosity. It would be one thing if I came in here and said "we kicked your so and so ..." or started insulting your team or your conference etc... I have made a point of not coming in here and gloating but rather engaging in some of the discussions relating to sports in general. For the first few days after the game, I can understand some being upset and not even want to talk to a Gator, but after this much time I think some people need to look ahead and not back. That is what I was discussing in both conversations about your team and mine as well as players from other schools who left early (look back at discussions on Guillermo Diaz for example). Aside from perhaps starting this thread in the wrong forum, and even that is somewhat debatable, I have done nothing to earn the venow which some of you mysteriously have. We have some "regulars" on our boards who are conference foes like Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama. And we have frequent visits from Hurricane and Seminole fans as well. But we also have members who are Notre Dame fans, North Carolina Tarheel fans and Colorado Buffalo fans among others. Some run their mouth a bit much and do admittedly get annoying. Some do come there just to "flame" and start trouble, but we don't ridicule and ostracize them all because of the relatively small number of bozos out there who invariably get themselves banned rather quickly anyway. Incidentally we have had a UCLA Bruin fan visiting our board the last few weeks. The only difference I see there is that his team lost. Is that it? I mean are you that mad at me personally because my team happened to win one game against you guys? Really, is it that simple?

I mean are you that mad at me personally because my team happened to win one game against you guys? Really, is it that simple? First of all, it's GU, Einstein. GT is Georgia Tech. I don't see anyone calling it FU. Second, we have regulars from other schools in our conference, and when they talk about hoops and play it cool, the debates/threads are fun to participate in. Even had a few non-conference fans show up during the tourney, and for the most part they had (somewhat) positive contributions to make. Finally, all that yap about "running their mouth" and "flaming to start trouble" and the like? That's you, pal. If you came around with a post like "Pre-Season Predictions" and tried to engage HoyaTalk in a debate about where GU and UF should be - along with a few other teams - in the pre-season rankings, you'd get a normal debate going. Nothing wrong with that. But no. Being the flamer you are, you came around and said, for all intents and purposes, "My team is going to be number one. Discuss." That is the DEFINITION of a flamer. Add on top of that the fact you have started a NUMBER of posts that have nothing to do with the Hoyas - directly or even remotely tangentially - and you can see where people's patience with you has worn thin.

OK, here's the explanation: you are annoying.
Its not that you are a fan of a different school. Its not that your school defeated ours in a game. Its that you are annoying.
You don't come here to discuss squat. You come here to say, and I am admittedly paraphrasing, "Yay, isn't the team that I root for (and the players on it) great?" Who cares. We have posters with different loyalties who appear here from time to time. But guess what? When they come here, their posts are at least tangentially related to the Hoyas. When they have nothing to say that in any way relates to our team/conference/etc, they stay on their boards. Hard to believe, I know, but its true, its true.
So, feel free to keep posting about how great your team is, but stop acting so surprised about the reaction you get. If you are coming here to annoy, congrats, mission accomplished. If you honestly think that we care that you think your team is the greatest, well, you're wrong.
Because we all know what team truly is the greatest: San Dimas High School Football.

There is a thread about players leaving early. Why didn''t you just make your post there? Can't you understand that CREATING AN ENTIRE NEW THREAD about YOUR team -- a team that we do not care about because we don't play during the season -- Editedes people off. It has nothing to do with having lost to UF. You would get the same reaction no matter who you root for. You have been given lots of leeway with your inanity. If the board had an ignore function, you would be my first. Be gone with you.

Add on top of that the fact you have started a NUMBER of posts that have nothing to do with the Hoyas - directly or even remotely tangentially - and you can see where people's patience with you has worn thin. Alright, I apologize for the egregious error in using "GT." I was clearly using a short hand for Gerogetown, not Georgia Tech. And I have seen others on this very board use "GT" as well. Mysteriously no one ever got upset until now, nor even mentioned it. And as best I could tell, everyone knew what they were talking about. But if it makes you feel any better I apologize; I will make every effort to remember to use GU all the time. Incidentally though, had I used "UG" instead of "GT" then your point about "FU" would have more merit. As it is, it just looks more like a cheap opportunity for you to say "FU" altogether. As to the thread in question, of course this is a natural time to bring in a number of other teams and discuss who/what they have coming back and who should be vying for a spot in the preseason top 5. My point, albeit viewed through my orange and blue goggles, is that as the deadline nears and there is no sign of any early defections, it is going to be awful hard to convince me that Florida shouldn't be the #1 team going in. It will be extremely difficult to remain there for 3 weeks, let alone fininsh there at the end. But that's not the point. As the defending champion and having only lost one bench player, and having added 5 players to the team, including New York's Mr. Basketball as well as Florida's runner up for the same award, in addition to highly regarded Jimmie Sutton who even though he didn't play, has a year of experience being in the program ... how could we not be #1 going in? And if not, who else do you think is deserving of consideration? But no, your response was "blah blah ... you're a Gator ... blah blah flamer ... blah blah this or that or the other. ...."
