"WASHINGTON - That wasn't Old Glory flying. "It was Joakim Noah's shirt tail. "Yes, America loved him on the basketball court, and he became the celebrated face - well, hair - of the nation's best collegiate basketball team. But when Florida's favorite Gator joined his teammates and student-athletes from 13 other NCAA championship teams to celebrate their achievements Thursday at the White House, somebody should have smacked a little sense into the lad before he made a plumb fool out of himself." www.tbo.com/sports/gators/MGBH2CYXPLE.htmlPhotos: news.search.yahoo.com/news/search?p=Joakim&c=news_photos

Let's see hifigator defend this one as "he is passionate." He may be passionate, but he is also an ass. Considering our current big men situation, I am very happy he is not a Hoya.

Leave the broads of the week at home, Joakim.

This actually makes what Vince Young wore at the WH a while back look like something out of GQ.

Sorry I didn't see this earlier. I wasn't ignoring you. Actually this topic had a bunch of conversation down here a couple of weeks back. As far as the girls with Joakim, they are white house staff, not some "hangers on" that he took with him. As far as the dress, he comes from a different culture. Would I have preferred a suit coat and tie ... yes. Joakim has been a bit vocal about certain politics, something I wish he wouldn't do. We talked about this before and I am not going to be a hypocrite at all. I don't like celebreties who use their fame in a different field to then give their opinions on National or political matters. The fact that you are a great basketball player, or actor, or singer, or model etc... doesn't mean that your political opinion has any more weight than my plumber or mechanic. I am not sure whether Joakim's dress was statement or just part of his character. Either way I am not going to praise him for it in any way.

Why would a Whitehouse staffer have a camcorder at a White House event when they can probably get WHCA video of any events?

His parents are European, but don't the French and the Swedes wear suits? Hasn't he spent a significant chunk of his life in the United States? In the end, that outfit was sloppy and disrespectful. You're going to meet the President of the United States. It's not a time to demonstrate a part of your "character". Suck it up and put on a damn suit for a couple of hours. If you disagree with the President and want to make a political statement, stay home instead of showing up dressed like a hobo. And there's no way those were White House staffers. White House staff aren't allowed to just wander the grounds and pop in to events as they please.

I said I didn't approve either way, whether it was intended to be a political statement or whether it was simply influenced by aspects of mulitculturalism. On this one I am on your side. Don't act like I justified it in any way. As far as the two ladies though, I will try to find the original articles which went into details but they were purported to be White House Aides. I am not making that up ... but obviously I wasn't there.

You almost figure it has to be white house aids because i doubt his invitation to the white house allowed him to bring two hoes of his liking. Seems kind of hard to believe that white house aids would behave in such a manner
