Looks like jealousy and hypocracy is rearing its ugly head. You folks can spend three pages telling each other how overrated GW is and how much better our team is, yet you don't have the gonads to schedule a game against us. Further, of all the D-1 schools, yours is the last to criticize another school for playing a week schedule. You must have very short memories.

Ok rule 1. every time a GW fan says that Georgetown is afraid to play them you take a drink. rule 2. everytime a georgetown fan says GW is overrated you drink. I think with those two rules alone we'd get pretty drunk but can anyone come up with some others.

1)I don't think WE make the schedule 2)I definitely know WE don't care enough to post often on your board 3)JT II took much abuse from the media for those awful schedules he came up with. St Leo's was the butt of all jokes. Hobbs and GW don't have to deal with nearly as harsh attacks from outsiders. The Gtown fans took the abuse when it came our way concerning the Hoyas' schedule. Now it is you Colonial fans who are getting a little taste of that medicine.. Deal with it. Live with it. Love it. 4)Stop wasting your time getting mad at GU fans. Get mad at your moronic coach and AD. When JT II put together silly schedules at least he knew his team was playing in a REAL conference. Even more importantly he did this in a different era. This modern era is different. Just as football teams have to deal with the reality of the BSC, basketball teams have to deal with the reality of the RPI and SOS now. If your coach had scheduled at least a few more tough games it would have been to your team's benefit. Even if WG had lost all of those games, the RPI would have been much, much higher, your team would be more prepared for the tourney and this discussion going on in the media and fan forums about WG now being deserving of one of the top seeds would not be happening.
Good luck to your team, GW fans. And move on already.

Look, ESPN and the rest of the media desperately want a mid-major team to latch onto now that Zaga is "mainstream." The DC area needs another legit team now that MD is sucking eggs. Enter WG. It's simple. That doesn't detract from what the Colonials have done so far this year (only one loss at this point is impressive, no doubt), but it also doens't mean #8/#10 will do anything come March, when it matters, regardless of who it is or what their SOS is. One cardinal rule of athletic competition is that if you don't have any real competition, you can't perform at the highest level when the chips are down because you don't know how to.
I wish WG the best, but I just can't believe in them yet. I'd love to see a yearly series between us, as many of us would (it's a convenient way to watch some intra-city hoops every year), but all this showing up at gtown games and chat board interloping is kinda weird. Where were you guys before? If you were really serious about how good you are, you wouldn't wait until you're at the top of your game. You would've done it a while ago, when both our programs were either down-and-out or rebulding. You have to understand, lsfg, that we're just not as motivated to worry about you as you seem to be about us. We have UConn, Nova, Cuse, Duke, and other high-majors to worry about. Until we play each other, you guys are just the school down the hill across the creek, and that won't change.
And boy, do I wish you would've lost to St. Joe's tonight so you would just shut up.

UCONN looked scary good last night. I think they'd beat Duke by double digits on a neutral court.

I think with those two rules alone we'd get pretty drunk but can anyone come up with some others. Every time that out of control WG team throws a horrific pass as they try to play "offense", drink. Chug for the extent of the time it takes the tool announcers to say "Pops Mensah Bonsu" anytime he does anything. (YES WE KNOW HE HAS A LONG, FUNNY NAME. THANKS, ESPN!) Everytime J. Wall calmly breaks a WG press, take a sip (we don't want anyone dying in the first 10 minutes of the game) Anytime a WG student tries to falsely accuse you of caring when you just wish they'd shut up, finish your drink (and theirs). Take a drink whenever they show Karl Hobbs jumping and/or screaming

can we quell the GW talk so we don't have to deal with these insufferable twits...I'd rather not talk about it than have a bunch of georgetown rejects invading the Board.

What so you GU fans just want to hear your own opinions?
What Rocks? GW Rocks!
We are not 'GU' rejects, we just want to see what happens when we present the fly...your fish come right up and gobble it. That is called 'trolling'. Expect it.
Come over to our board - gwhoops.com - more stats, more basketball talk, and enthusiasm about the GW program. And no elitism silliness (your school is not that hard to get into now, much easier than it used to be).
No reason why we can't have a 'Big 5' in DC like in Philly, add in Virginia, MD, GU, GW and WVU and it would be a helluva tradition to start.
Good luck again today, will be watching hope not canceled.

I have not commented on this thread so far b/c WG is totally irrelevant. However when my school is assaulted I must educate the illiterates over at WG.
Georgetown University Acceptance Rate- 21% which I believe is 8th in the nation
George Washington Acceptance Rate- 40%
And if our school is not that hard to get into now, how come you got rejected?
(And no silliness about how you were accepted and chose to go to WG instead, you and I both know thats not true)

You must have very short memories. ;D ;D ;D As I recall, JT II, with a "week" schedule, guided Hoyas to 19 consecutive post-season appearances. He had a rationale for the schedule.

The hate is strong between our two teams - what can you say. Then again, we played probably our 2nd or 3rd worse game of the season and beat them on their court, I expect them to be Editeded. If I went to some of your "rival opponents" boards would they be saying "Gtown is awesome!!!"?? As for why you are looking at GW's OPPONENTS message boards to get even more information on GW (a team that does not matter - right?) is a little strange to say the least.

There is no hate from GU's end of things. There is nothing to hate. We only hate the fact that fans are coming over to our boards, trying to persuade us to schedule WG as if we have anything to do with it, and acting as if WG and A-10 basketball are relevant.
Give me a schedule with UVA and UMD. Let WG schedule some of its own marquee opponents, like ummm....oops.

PLEASE read the post before you comment - I am referring to St. JOES and GW as having hate between the two teams. MCIguy asked me about the St. Joes board and I said "there is a lot of hate between our teams" referring to St. Joes.
