Disclaimer - I'm not a fan of either team, I just like good football. However...
... that was easily the worst call I have ever seen. Even on replay. I'm watching it in TiVo right now:
1) He has possession when he catches it 2) His right knee goes down 3) His left knee goes down 4) This whole time he still has possession 5) As he rolls over on his butt AND his back, his right knee makes contact with the ground AGAIN
*** At this point, there is no debating Polamalou has completed a "football move"***
6) As he gets up, his left knee knocks the ball out, which is a fumble 7) He recovers his own fumble
The refs call it right on the field. After review the ref has the balls to say:
"The defender caught the ball, lost it prior to getting his knee off the ground."
Excuse me, since when do you need to get your knee OFF the ground? Think if he was a wide receiver, caught it, went to both knees, rolled onto his ass and back, then rolled over and fumbled while getting up... THAT WOULD BE A CATCH. For the refs to have the balls to give that call to the Colts is unreal.
I'm usually in the "refs can't win or lose you a game" camp, and for the most part that applies to this game, but the Steelers are going to have a legitimate gripe after this one if they lose.

WHAT A GAME!!
Serves that "dumb, idiot, liquored up kicker" right. And Bettis... REDEEMED. What a game. Still not sure why Cowher didn't kneel down considering the Colts only had one timeout. Coulda run the clock down to about 20-30 seconds and kicked a field goal. Guess that's why he doesn't have a ring yet...
So apparently it isn't the Patriots that are under Manning's skin... its the playoffs in general.

Not sure how Bettis is redeemed...more like let off the hook.
That Palomalu call was HORRENDUS. I was not aware that you had to get up to catch the ball. What about plays where the player dives, catches the ball and puts it down before his knees come off the ground? No catch?
Colts had all three timeouts.

Not sure how Bettis is redeemed...let off the hook. Redeemed, let off the hook, same thing. You know what I meant, you knucklehead.

3 Things about this game:
1. That non-interference call in First Half where Marlin Jackson MUGGED the WR was worse then call against Patriots last night
2. The play to overturn the INT was the WORST CALL I've EVER seen and they invented a rule that doesn't exist and it was OUTSTANDING job by the media to call this out--NFL was blasted for this and should be.
3. Peyton Manning is officially someone who needs to be knocked down a level when it comes to hype. There is nothing else to say. The way he mis managed the game at the end cost his team the game as much as his horrible play for 3 quarters. I credit Pittsburgh and they now have a spot in my heart forever for beating the Colts and Manning Family is out!!! ;D ;D ;D
Ball at the 37 yard line with 1:03 to go and 2 timeouts remaining and you end up with a 46 yard FG attempt to tie?? That was TERRIBLE clock management and it falls on Manning--if he's coaching team as they always preach and dropped to their knees in slurping him when he waved off the punt team.
Thank you Pittsburgh and Carolina!! I hope they earn trips to Super Bowl for their work in eliminating the Manning Family for another year! ;D

I was rooting for the Colts, and I agree that that was one of the worst calls I have ever seen.
