Leo Mazzone is heading to the Orioles. Apparently he and Perluzzo (sp?) are childhood chums. All these double z guys have to stick together, I guess.
This is definitely a major blow to the Braves. Mazzone is probably the best pitching coach around.

Thanks--my roommate's a huge braves fan and I broke the news to him after I saw 'rooters post. Then when I was looking at ESPN.com and MLB.com I couldn't find anything saying it.
He isn't particularly happy with me since I told him Mazzone left, then told him it wasn't confirmed, then had to tell him again that Mazzone was going to the Orioles.

I'd always heard Mazzone was tending bar when Bobby Cox found him and got him into coaching, don't know if it's true. It's always good to see how bad things can get screwed up with the two worst owners in MLB (AOL and Angelos.)

It really doesn't matter. The O's pitching problem is the lack talent not coaching. Ray Miller was one of the best pitching coaches. Until they get more pitching talent, it doesn't matter who is the pitching coach.
