sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2093093Just caught wind of this. Kurt Thomas for Q Richardson (his money-eating contract). Now the Knicks are definitely NBA Finals bound. Its not like the Knicks don't have ballhogs Marbury and Jamal Crawford, and Allan Houston in the backcourt already. Adding Q Richardson (NBA's newest version of Casper in the playoffs) his salary-cap eating contract will be the perfect solution for the Knicks' problems. Way to go Isiah. You truly are one heck of a GM. GMs Chris Mullin for Golden State and Billy King for the 76ers don't have anything on you.

I love this deal for the Knicks, as is should mean more playing time for Big Mike. How can that be bad, even if this deal means the Knicks are over the cap until approximately 2112?
Forget about Houston. He's finished.

i'm pretty sure it'll take about 6-7 years from when a real GM takes over from isiah to fix the mess that is the knicks.
it's almost laughable.
also, by putting Crawford and Richardson on the same floor, you'll have on average the dumbest starting five in the history of pro basketball (excluding EVERY SINGLE blazers team. EVER.).
but any situation in which sweets gets more playing time is good for us as hoya fans.

How can that be bad, even if this deal means the Knicks are over the cap until approximately 2112? Great album, that "2112"... Rush is totally underrated as a band. Peart, Liefson and Lee make up three of the all-time best at their respective instruments (technique-wise, especially).

K. Thomas for Q. Richardson is not a bad deal in its face. The problem is more Marbury, Houston and Jamal Crawford.
He got good value though, esp. since the Knicks will never get below the cap. And if it ends up in a sign and trade for LeBron over the next two years, it'll be worth it.

Dave CHecketts was not a great GM... except in retrospect compared to the guys who came after. Ed Tapscott... in his brief appearance.. managed to reneg on his promise to Ron Artest to draft him, only to pass on Draft Day for Frederick Weiss. (who???) Weiss never played a day for the Knicks.
Then Scott Layden took over. YIKES. Bad to worse. bad players and worse trades and cap management. Isiah (revolving door) Thomas was next. Team is deeper in the hole now than ever.
Meanwhile, the RANGERS (same owners, The Dolans, who also own MSG and CABLEVISION) have the same situation as the Knicks. HUGELY overpaid roster (Highest payroll in the league, just like Knicks) of old guys who can't play anymore. No team chemistry. no development of young guys. The lack of any NHL season at all is the only thing keeping them from getting the same bad press as the Snickerbockers.
And the press keeps writing that NY fans won't accept a rebuilding team. how absurd. WHo would not rather have a young rebuilding team instead of an old, overpaid, boring, losing team?

I was shocked, SHOCKED, that the Knicks didn't pull out all the stops to draft Sean May last night.
