Just asking for any advice from anybody who's been to a Nats game this year. I might have the chance to go to a home game weekend after next. It would probably be metroing in from New Carrolton. I have two possibilities of tickets from a friend of mine or a friend of the fiancee that are both down the first base line in the lower deck.
I should get to go to the first game I've been to a Camden Yards next weekend on the same trip. Any advice for there is appreciated as well but I'll be with some people from the area for that game.

Metro: 1) On your way to the game, get in the last car of the metro train at New Carrolton. The exit for the stadium will be behind you (it is towards Maryland) from the direction you are coming. If you're in the last car, you won't have to be in the crowd. If you're coming from downtown DC, you should be in the front car. 2) On the way back, walk two blocks past the first metro station entrance to the next one (just follow the people past the first entrance). You won't have to wait in a big line to get down the escalator at this other entrance.
Food: 1) You can bring bottled water and sandwiches/other food in, I think. They check bags, but don't do the pat-down, so you can get other stuff in as well if you hide it well. You can buy food from vendors outside the stadium as well. 2) If you want to buy food at the game, make sure to bring enough cash for the whole game. The ATM lines are very loooooooong. And I also don't believe they take credit cards. 3) Don't go for the hotdogs. They are too small and overpriced. Go for the Italian sausage (found near the entrances) on the lower deck. They are good. Beer is $6. Italian sausage is $5-something. They have peanuts and other stuff. Not a great selection of food, but I am a happy man with my beer, peanuts and italian sausage.
