Just heard on PTI that the Knicks are offering Mike Sweetney to the Bulls for Eddy Curry. TK asked Willy-buns if he would make the deal and the answer was something like "I dunno about making deals with people from New York, people of your ilk."
Clearly a throwaway comment, but seriously...who wins this deal? Clearly it wouldn't be Mike himself.

I hope the Knicks dont do this. Eddy Curry is a waste of space, give Sweets a real chance. I just heard all this talk about how they like him so much and think he can be a special player and then they turn around and want to trade him? I'll be seriously Editeded at the Knicks if they do this.

A move to Chicago would be good for M.Sweetney in terms of playing time and touches. If he were to go to the Bulls, he would probably start and get a chance to put up numbers. He won't have guys like Jamal Crawford and Stephon Marbury shooting all the time. I believe he could average around 20 points and 10 rebounds if he were to play for the Bulls. Sure his team would get POUNDED on most nights, but he would be looked at as a force.

The two tower thing isn't working in Chicago and some people within the Bulls operation would really love to give Chandler a shot at the center spot. They think Sweets would be a great compliment at the PF. Fact is while I appreciate the "bring him along slowly" approach Mike is only going to get better by playing. And he needs touches and have the offense flow through him a bit. How is that going to happen in NYC when he's coming off the bench and having to be the third, fourth or fifth go-to guy whenever Marbury and Crawford are on the floor with him? The only negative for Sweets would be he would no longer have those two Knick assistant coaches in his ear. But Sweetney is the type of guy that will work hard regardless of who his coaches are.
