Will someone who has a rivals subscription please remind some of these yahoos that despite our dismal 0-4 record against Syracuse over the last 2 seasons (with one loss in OT and another by 3 points), we are 4-6 against them over the past 5 years (yes, that would make GU 4-2 from '99-'02). If you want to erase a 25 year rivalry based on 2 years of one team wallowing in mediocrity, then you can't be much of a basketball fan.

Even during their national championship season, we played them three times and three times it was close all the way. Then last year, if not for a GMac three, we would have taken them to OT at MCI. I'm not about to predict a win at Syracuse, but I'll bet solid money that it's closer than the talent and experience spread might indicate. We will ALWAYS play the Orange tight, and I think they know that.
There's no way around the fact that Cuse is better than us right now - they're one of the 10 best programs in the nation at this moment. But they better not think that's a permanent state of affairs. Next year, Warrick is gone. A year later, GMac. Are their recruits good enough to fill their shoes? Perhaps, but perhaps not. Georgetown has a good class this year, a better one next year, and (based on early returns) an even better one in 2006. We shall return.

I dont know if we can say that next years class will be better than this years. Jeff Green and J-Wallace are no joke. Plus, I think Big Roy will develop into something and hes had some solid games already. Also, never know with Cornelio, maybe he just needs time. Crawford could end up being a solid role player as well.
I am excited about next years class though, Octavious Spann who sounds like a complete stud, Josh Thornton raining 3's with the best in the country, Sapp taking it strong to the hole with the AI attitude and Egerson doing what he does.

I'm really excited about Egerson actually. From everything I read he is a diesel truck of a guard who absolutely flies. Really exciting.

Big Time Rutgers recruit JR Inman is 6'7" and 195. Big Time UConn recruit Marcus Johnson is 6'6" and 190. Big Time Maryland recruit Shane Clark is 6'6" and 185.
Marc clocks in at 6'4"-6'5" and 215. That's heavier and shorter than DJ. He's 15-20 pounds heavier than Tyler.
I'm not sure if we've ever had that kind of guard/ forward in years.

Yeah, I saw him in the lobby prior to Midnight Madness talking to Coach Broadus. He certainly looks like a powerfully built guy, a very strong 215.

I see Egerson very much as the wild card at this point. We don't hear too much about him other than occasional updates from the DEPreps site, yet he could turn into one of the bigger steals in the recruiting class. Incidentally, his build are most comparable to Billy Edelin, although I am sure he is a better citizen.
