www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-reid14jan14,1,3031778.story?coll=la-headlines-sports You might have to register to read this, but registration is free. Nice to see that the program has regained at least some national relevance in a relatively short period of time.

""The beauty of being at Georgetown is that we do have that history," he said. "These kids are not that far removed that they don't know about the Allen Iversons of the world, the Alonzo Mournings of the world.
"You couple that with the fact that we are in Washington, D.C., and we are one of the top academic institutions, and we have a lot to work with. We're going to recruit guys who can play at the highest level because that's where we want to be again."
That's what I like to read! JT3 isn't whining about facilities, the absence of a private jet, etc. He's selling the program to recruits on its merits-- and there are a lot.
nice article!

See, G'town always gets love out on the West Coast, particularly LA. Our name still has that prestige.

Our name still has that prestige. ___________________________ Frankly, having lived here since 1992, this is the first press I can recall of any kind about Georgetown since we played in the Sweet 16 at the Pond. In anticipation of the counter-argument that name prestige landed us Bowman, Cook and Reed, I offer this. Reed had two other D-I offers, Oregon State and Fresno State. Cook originally committed to NM. Bowman was the fourth best player on his HS team, but was an awesome coux nonetheless

Like I said before, G'Town gets love on the West Coast, and the name has the National Prestige.
