The GU Women's Lacrosse Team learned today that they will NOT be playing in the 2007 NCAA Tournament.
Enough said.

Who are the at-large bids in the bracket? Hard to believe the no. 4 SOS in the nation didn't get the Hoyas in.

If we did have the No.4 SOS in the nation, we didn't beat many of the teams that gave us a boost in the SOS. We are 2-5 against tournament teams and one of those wins came against 'Cuse at home in 2OT. Despite the team's ten wins, they did not play well against good competition and picked up wins against gimme opponents George Mason (6-10) and William & Mary (3-13) not to mention games against Connecticut, Loyola and Rutgers in the conference that should be Ws every year as well as beating an overmatched GW team which had 10 wins but over some very light A10 competition. Not that hard to believe the team didn't get a bid, they did not play very well this year.

Interestingly, the WLAX Committee does not use the exact same formula the MLAX Committee uses in selecting its field of 16. In addition to RPI & SOS they consider other (common-sense) factors like Head-to-Head (KILLED us), Winning Percentage (KILLED us) & Wins vs. common opponents (KILLED us).
The At Large bids went to:
The ACC (which has no AQ): UVA, UMD, UNC, Duke Johns Hopkins Vanderbilt Yale Princeton
We went 1W, 5L against these teams.
